This 5-track EP is a supremely good sibling to Geese's 3D Country (released earlier this year).
Pushing similar vibes to that album, it's just more of what made that album so good. Catchy country rock riffs mixed with noisy pads and a very art rock vocal.
As a light fan of Blonde Redhead, it's fantastic to see that they can still release top-quallity music, 30 years after their initial formation.
At this point, they really are masters of the dream pop genre and this album proves that yet again. I listened to this album for the first time on the bus home from work, but I felt like I was floating for the entire time.
Overall, a fun mix of alt-rock, grunge and pop. Great vocals, plenty of textures, dark guitars and driving drums. The huge range of music can make the album feel a little bit disjointed at some points but it should be praised in some aspect because it really helps in preventing any of the sounds that Cherry Blazerr show off from becoming stale.
Sit down in your favourite armchair with a mug of something hot and enjoy the sound of Leah Senior's 2023 effort. The vocals are delicate, the guitars are detailed and the mix has a fantastically retro sound to it. Just overall a very comfortable album that's good to reflect to as Senior herself does in a lot of these songs.
This album is a sombre one. Mitski takes a slow and contemplative look at life on her seventh album. The album builds and builds throughout its short duration and ends with a sound that's very delicate and enjoyable
A nice mixture of noise rock and shoegaze. Just Mustard have shown good progression from their debut to make a pretty dark and gloomy album that still manages to keep the listener engaged
This album was very hyped when it came out and I think it somewhat deserved it. It's a pop record your great grandma would love and that's something to be appreciated.
The vocals are stunning, the instrumentation is superb. Overall, this is a recording that isn't quite as good as the greats it is borrowing from but it's still a very good and enjoyable album
I wrote shit like this when I was 14.
This is just cringe emo rubbish and that's extremely disappointing for a band that are 30 years old on their final album.
Another super solid Indie Rock album that does just enough to make it stand out from the wave of similar sounding female-fronted bands. Vocals are reminiscent of Goat Girl but the songwriting is different and, in my opinion, a little more adventurous. This is a super solid debut LP. I look forward to hearing more
Rodrigo's second album does a good job at building off the groundwork laid down in SOUR. More Paramore-esque pop punk, more Swift-inspired pop ballads and more Ellish-like synth pop. This does make the album lack a bit of personal identity with every song sounding a bit like someone else but Rodrigo does just enough to stand out a little bit from the others. Her lyrics still focus on young-girl themes but they feel a little more expertly crafted and everything is overall that little bit better ... read more
A beautiful album that blows the other albums of this genre being released in the early 2010s out of the water. Glorious production, superb instrumentation, delicate and emotive vocals. There isn't really anything to hate. Shame Josephine's later efforts never hit the same peaks as this album managed.
It's hard to sum up this album in words. This album sees the ever adventurous KKB divert from their usual sound to a vibe that's more guitar driven overall but containing their signature charm with video game inspired synths and Sarah's unique vocal style. Super fun, quite experimental, fun as hell. This is a must-listen album from a must-listen band
Angel Du$t show just how many music genres they can explore in 30 minutes in this album. There are elements of punk, grunge, nu-metal and even some more folk-rocky tracks in there. I some ways, though, it does hurt the album slightly- making the album feel a little disjointed.
Overall, super fun and worth the 30 minute runtime.
Unfortunately, incredibly poor production takes away from what could have been a very decent Indie record.
Supremely fun indie rock. The vocals are light and fun, the guitars drive the song along and the bass & drums lay an extremely solid bed for everything to sit on.
It's innocently fun and that makes it worth the listen
This is a fuzzy, psychedelic, crunchy album filled with energy. The production is raw, the performance is real. This was just a fun album
I should point out before I continue with this review that I don't speak Icelandic so the lyrics in most of the songs in this album could be complete rubbish but something tells me that they aren't. Everything about this album is just amazing from the jaw-dropping production to the superb musicianship in every part of this album. Every instrument has its place with the vocals and acoustic guitar being standouts. The strings are glorious as well. To be honest, I could go on about this album all ... read more
