Kanye West - BULLY
74

Knowing I enjoyed listening to this album ruined my day

Favorite(s): King, Father, All The Love, Punch Drunk, White Lines, Preacher Man
Least Favorite(s): Circles, Last Breath

yeule - Poison Arrow
100

No other song makes me feel the way this song does.

Gorillaz - Rhinestone Eyes
100

Maybe actually the best synthpop song ever.

The Beatles - Revolver
90

What’s more impressive: Kubrick making 2001: A Space Odyssey in 1968 or The Beatles making Revolver in 1966?

Favorite(s): Eleanor Rigby, I’m Only Sleeping, Here There Everywhere (White Ferrari 😱😱), She Said She Said, For No One (born yesterday 😱😱), Tomorrow Never Knows
Least Favorite(s): Love You To

“And if I'm being honest with myself, I don't want closure
I want to feel the gravity of losing you” 🥹🥹🥲🥲 #RealShit

Electropop is so back

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
92

Plastic Beach takes you into this world with gorgeous electronic production and lyrics that will only grow to be more important as time goes on. Rhinestone Ryes is the best song ever.

Favorite(s): Welcome To the World of the Plastic Beach, Rhinestone Eyes, Stylo, Empire Ants, Glitter Freeze, On Melancholy Hill, Broken, Plastic Beach
Least Favorite(s): Sweepstakes (I love you Mos Def but why was this 5 minutes)

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
96

A really beautiful piece of art. To think this is supposed to be his happiest album is crazy. I was absolutely destroyed by John Wayne Gacy Jr and it's even sadder knowing Sufjan was closeted at the time. Even excluding the lyric contents, this album is super impressive. He has a gorgeous voice and nothing goes better than gorgeous chamber pop production to go along with it.

Favorite(s) [I'm not typing the full titles fuck you]: Concerning the UFO, Come On! Feel the Illinoise!, John ... read more

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
95

An absolutely soul crushing album with insane instrumentation. Best played loud.

Favorite(s): Mr. Self Destruct, Piggy, Closer, A Warm Place, Eraser, Hurt
Least Favorite(s): N/A

Swans - Swans Are Dead
92

Album #10.5 of listening to the entire Swans discography:

One of the best (and only) live albums i’ve ever heard. Every song on Black CD (Disc 1) is incredible, being better than the original. I’d give Black CD alone a 100, which is unfortunate I can’t say the same for White CD (Disc 2). White CD is still a great, electrifying performance but some songs on it either hold up to the original or are weaker (like The Sound).

Favorite(s): Feel Happiness, Low Life Form, Not ... read more

One of the best mixtapes ever and so impressive for a debut! Very few flaws, maybe Loft Music should have been shorter but overall so so good. Wicked Games will forever be THE R&B song to me.

Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
97

Album #10 of listening to the entire Swans discography:

I had my first listen around 2 weeks ago and actually hesitated to give this a rating at first because it’s so difficult putting a numerical value to this. Soundtracks For The Blind is absolutely not your typical album. It’s post-rock but not in the way Godspeed You! Black Emperor is. Listening to F# A# Infinity is bleak, just like this album. But instead of feeling like you’re looking down on humanity, Soundtracks For ... read more

Squee - squee
85

This is music I don’t think I could’ve seen myself listening to maybe even a year ago. It’s loud, and it’s great. Holy shit, that boy can scream.

Favorites: autoerotic, wasted, online, squee, holy

black midi - Schlagenheim
87

Batshit crazy album. The vocalist is sometimes a bit too weird for me at times but I’d be lying if I said he didn’t fit the music.

Favorites: 953, Near DT MI, Western, Of Schlagenheim, bmbmbm

Michael Gira - Drainland
77

Album #9.5 of listening to the entire Swans discography:

Before going into Soundtracks for the Blind, I wanted to listen to this album. The main reason is for Blind, which I actually didn't listen to before because I chose to listen to the original version of White Light. This album is pretty good for the most part. It's sometimes minimalist but sometimes loud, and although it can get repetitive or really long (talking to YOU, Fan Letter), there's some really great ... read more

Swans - The Great Annihilator
94

Album #9 of listening to the entire Swans discography:

This is exactly the direction I wanted Swans to go in. This is perfect gothic rock and they're clearly experimenting more. Jarboe and Gira actually go so well together on this project it's actually so cool. I know Jarboe isn't in the band post-hiatus which makes me really sad, but it makes me appreciate these albums even more. This album is super consistent and the more I've been replaying it, the more I like it. One ... read more

Ghais Guevara - Goyard & The Kayfabe Reveal
54

First album to be mixed and master-bated 😭😭😭 I’m so sorry ghais it’s either I can’t hear shit or the hi hats are in some evil frequency that gives me tinnitus. I don’t know man, I just wish I liked the new Ghais more. There are some good moments but it just sounds so dull at times..

Favorites: Battle of Resentment, Epilogue (The Temple)
Least Favorites: The Kayfabe, Your Getaway (Ad Break)

The Scythe - Strictly 4 The Scythe
71

It’s not bad but it’s not very interesting. I know this is just a side project for Denzel but I wish he had the same consistency he had on his last trap project. If he could do it so good then, why not now?

Nettspend - early life crisis
75

Would be first rapper to flex about smoking crack if Viper The Rapper didn’t exist.

Favorite(s): you ready?, masked up, no sleep, cross em out, make em bleed

Mac Miller - Circles
92

Mac if only you knew how much the world misses you <3

This album makes you feel his presence missing, like something’s not right. I actually miss him so much. Genuinely such a down to earth person and absolutely an angel. This album is really special and is probably going to always be the best solo posthumous album ever.
