Very dark EP/Song. I love the bridge and the second verse the most, and the first one is just classic LUM in his memphis rap phase. About the noise in the end, that was something (lol), but a genuinely essential cloud rap project.
Some cool remixes of an Alright song out of incunabula. Nothing too special, but a very pleaseant companion EP to a great album
Basically the Homework of Autechre. Very repetitive and spacey project, with some bangers like 444 and Bike. A far cry from their later works, but still a very remarkable project, full of substance
I wish it was longer. Both tittle tracks are perfect, and given the mornful nature of this EP, it has a way sadder and melancholic sound. The other 2 songs are alright, but nothing too special. Now spell the name of this EP 3 times
Feels like a PS2 racing game soundtrack on crack.
Sounds like a dying dream. Hauting listen, but surprisigly calm. The sampling is on another level, and the whole concept of eccojams is very intresting. My mind was fried after listening to this tape. A2 (angel) is top notch!
Wow. That was a good album. I love the whole soundboard of this album, with those "bit" synths and arppeggios. Format & Journey North is half adventurous, half acenscion, and the other half of the album is extremely enjoyable as well, a part from a few small misses. What a climb from his debut
Woe is The Transgression is boring as hell won't lie, but the title track and some others are really good previews of what Lopatin's carrer would later become. A little to ambient for my liking, but not bad
Well this certainly an experience. The first song, as my friend described it, is loud noise to scare the normies away, and followed by it is one of the hardest beats I've heard. You know the album is fire when the first thing he says is "Imma slit my wrist". Maniac Drug Dealer III beat is funny as hell, feels like something out of beetlejuice, and the next songs continue with the extreme violence with some HARD beats. There are some misses like that lean song, but it's a ... read more
Haunting, beautiful, and most importantly, a BLAST. The production is insane, with all those 80s ad samples being turned into scary or chilling drone or ambient tracks. The role model for plunderphonics. Cool Cover. The only thing remaining is for them to REISSUE THIS PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
Big L is like a mixture of DOOM and Nas. Unbelievable rap skill for the 90s, and a cool production to top with it. This album is also noticibaly funny, and has a lot of quotables. Very fun listen, and with insane replay value
This way better than Vultures 1, but there are some things I can't stand. First, the overuse of AI, specially in Sky City, and now in 530, is HORRIBLE, and it comes of as very lazy and uninspired. Ty tries to do his thing here, but he gets "outshined" by Kanye, and by outshined, I mean that he just sings more than Ty, not actually rap better. Very souless overall, and with some VERY mediocre trap songs in the mix, but songs like RIVER, MY SOUL, SKY CITY and FIELD TRIP (without ... read more
Leaving the Tik Tok Rizz party Carnival brainrot aside, this album is souless, has no subtance, and is just... bad. There are a few tracks with bits of inspiration, like burn, but all the others are filler, and ruined by the production of kanye, that took a massive cliff dive compared to his last albums. I would say this is inoffensive pop rap, but Kanye doesn't help that term, and also, the music itself just sucks
I don't know what happened, but I simply don't vibe with this album. Some songs like Nightcralwler are great, but overall, I just think the beats and performances aren't really to my appeal
A PERFECT EP. A gorgeous blend of Hip Hop, Plunderphonics and Orchestras to make these 4, very introspective, beautiful and addicting tracks. Part 2 is definetly my favorite, with it's "desert" vibe. Please, if you love Endtroducing like I do, listen to this EP, it is trully life changing
(P.S: Full review made on the comp "Preemptive Strike", that includes this EP, if you're intrested)
With all due respect to Shadow, this is an album that feels like it was produced by a 14 year old who just discovered FL Studio. I know he can make better, and that's why this piece of trash saddens me more than infuriates. Also, who let him touch that song "All My", horrible sample and track.
What hasn't been said about this album? Really, it is that perfect. Somehow, it's a fun album, and even being a somehow lengthy listen, it is still very engaging. And of course, the message behind this album is beautiful, and all the symbolisms makes this arguably the best and most cohesive piece of music ever made, and certainly one of the best in Hip Hop/Rap
A claustrophobic, fearful, and lush journey through a dark forest on a sunset. The 4/4 techno bass drum is utilized to it's fullest here, with it being melted by all these hauting samples. The 6th track, the final one in the original release, is definetly a standout, with its bittersweet nature, and overall, this album has a lot of replay value. Not an easy listen, but an amazing album nonetheless
