The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
73

Production is amazing, but the album is kinda bloated. São Paulo is also horrible in every way of the word, but some other tracks are really cool

Justice - Hyperdrama
64

It's okay-ish electronic music, but not that intresting

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES: DLC PACK
63

Better than the album, but it's not that good

Interpol - Interpol
95

Specialist is PERFECT

Seefeel - More Like Space
77

Ambient mixed with dubstep and shoegaze?!?! HELL YEAH.

Seefeel - Pure, Impure
74

Mesmerizing remix EP of their first project. They get a few sounds from that album, and loop it in such a hypnotic way, specially in Minky Starshine. The AFX remixes are great too, I like the fast paced one better.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Love in the Time of Lexapro
78

Listen to this for the intro and outro

Burial - Untrue
93

THE most important electronic album of the 2000s. Amazing production and CHILLING ambient interludes.

meganeko - Eclipse
76

Overall really good. Some songs are OK-ish (Earth, Pyroclastic Horizon, Ninox) and others are amazing (Monolith, Sirius A). Recommend

Tim Hecker - Harmony in Ultraviolet
92

Cannot put into words how urban, watery, and emotional this album is

Swans - Soundtracks for the Blind
79

What a weird album. It's like Musique Concrete mixed with folk rock and it might seem weird but it flows strangely well. Kinda bloated but expected due to run time, a lot of instrumental cuts, which are OK, I just wish there were more songs such as Helpless Child and Animus on the tracklist.

Secede - Tryshasla
95

This album is like a warm hug

Autechre - AE_BARCELONA_090424
95

I thought IDM was dead until I listened to it. Mind blowing

Interpol - Antics
90

It's definetly poppier, with songs like Slow Hands, C'mere and Evil, specially the ladder, being fairly well known. But what intrigues me are the deep cuts on this album, such as Narc and Not Even Jail. GOD those guitars are gorgeous, but not in a claustrophobic TOBL way, but in a sunny and happy way. It's such a welcome mood change, and while it is not as good as the urban masterpiece that is TOBL, it is such a pleasure to listen to

Oneohtrix Point Never - The Fall Into Time
79

It's a very pretty ambient project with some very laid back synths. I really enjoyed the second half. Doesn't have the same energy as his other rifts stuff, but still great

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU: DIRECTOR'S CUT
67

The new songs are hit or miss. Protect the Cross and Jordan Rules are pretty cool with some nice production, but get a song like COKE OR DOPE which is just a boring mess of a track. This also applies to the "2nd" disk, with the only track I like being "What in the Hip Hop Hell is This". The others suck so much it's unbelievable, specially that geometry dash song and HATE. The tracklist is a little bit more fun, but I feel as if too much filler was added, and the ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU

This is one of the few albums that straight up makes me cringe. Straight from the intro you get the dillan brooks line and it's such a turn off for me it's crazy. Peggy's attitude in this album is insufferable, he just feels like a sterotype of himself. "I hate white people grrrr", "I'm so chronically online and weird", "Drake likes little kids" bla bla bla. It's just comes across as repetitive and cringe. I'll give him that, his ... read more

"Great Review. In the Air is trully stellar"
On clawd's review of Autechre - Confield
"I agree up to a certain extent. The fun of Confield, in my opinion, is the complete dissasociation of "humanity" in Autechre's music. It's an important left turn in their carrer, and for electronic music as a whole, because it shows the limits of how weird yet technical electronic music can be. Even amidst the coldness, there is still some spark of emotion, which makes it such a gripping yet gruelling listen. It is a challenge, just like most moden AE, but a tremendously rewarding one. I hope you give it another chance one day. Great review nevertheless."

"@Normanalee "limited ability of brain" "To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Autechre. The textures are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of music theory, most of the enjoyment of the music will go over a typical listener's head. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these warped farts, to realise that they're not just farts- they represent a culture of highly capable and resilient listeners; a TRUE battle of artist and consumer. As a consequence people who dislike Autechre truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate the sheer clusterfuck of masterfully orginal beats that totally do have a glimpse of generative AI. Hideous? Perchance."
