Absolute mastery of jazz guitar and drums but at a lot of times it's just not that compelling to me and sometimes places showing their virtuosity over the quality of music
A bit of a guilty pleasure. I can see to an extent what flaws people might have with it (vocals can sometimes be overly relaxed, thinking several songs can be mixed better, thinking some songs sound a little half baked, not liking Britpop because you’re a nerd) but honestly I love it. Such a fun and exciting energy comes off this album and there are so many absolute bangers like Axis of Evil or Nothing Better. It’s not anything super unique or genre bending, maybe even a bit too ... read more
Circus music. I can enjoy it in moderation but as a whole album it's honestly pretty rough. This is the kind of music that plays when cartoon characters run through a bunch of doors trying to catch each other
Lucille could've easily been an early Beatles song. I love the close melodies on this album and they almost always work. It has a very pleasant vibe throughout and was fun and enjoyable to listen to. I was really surprised by how good it was
Nothing special but still a very enjoyable record. Some of the hooks become annoying after a while and as an album it’s not that crazy. Just a standard 80s pop rock album. Definitely a step back for Iggy in terms of lyricism.
Sounded fine but felt directionless and meandering which took away a lot, especially in an album listening experience
My main complaint is that the album just cuts off in the middle of a huge build up
1000th rating btw 🔥
This being released in 1960 is insane. It rounds out with a very clearly smooth jazz and then a very clearly jazz fusion song. In 1960!
Super dated and minimalistic production. Completely different from the dense Pharrell-led LGSEO. Both Pusha T and Malice perform well but its overshadowed by production that just doesn't work and very bad mixing on a lot of tracks. Maybe the weird production choices will grow on me, but for now they overshadow all the great lyricism in this album
Absolutely amazing. Some of the most passionate and raw indie rock of the 2020s. An amazing blend of Indietronica, Midwest Emo and Shoegaze that far surpasses Come In.
This album feels like a bite of creamy baked potato with a ton of melted butter and perfect seasoning just melting in your mouth. Beautiful, lush, soothing and just amazing throughout. Not a single second in its 51 minute runtime is wasted.
Super dreamy, latin vocal jazz album with English and Japanese lyrics with heavy indie pop influences. It’s a really interesting blend of sounds. Fans of Clairo and especially Laufey would love this.
Fans of McKinley Dixon will love this album. They both have very emphatic, loud and personal delivery, but Ray Vaughn does it over more standard trap beats instead of jazz rap beats. I think the production is amazing throughout this entire album, and so is the storytelling.
Would be much better of Hollywood Symphony actually went anywhere. The longer songs on this album just kind of wandered around and never reached any climax
Good album with higher peaks than 2016 but much less consistent. Too much filler for a 40 minute album. Not much changed from 2016 besides his voice moving further away from emo rap but he still borrows his flows from the genre
