Emo rap flow combined with Clams Casino/Black Leay type beats and sample chops. Stays super consistent throughout the whole project

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
70

Highlights: Don’t You Worry Baby, I’ll Take Care of You

Duke Ellington / Charlie Mingus / Max Roach - Money Jungle
75

I feel like as a combination of two artists I love and one (if not the) greatest jazz pianist of all time, I should love this album, but honestly I don't. There are some amazing songs on it, like African Flower and Solitude, but on a lot of this album I feel like the musicians, Mingus and Roach especially, have trouble syncing up and working together. Honestly, my favorite songs here are the ones that are much more Duke Ellington/Piano-centric, I think, because of that miscommunication in ... read more

Lou Reed & Metallica - Lulu
50

Has its moments where Lou Reed's greatness bleeds through and then he gets his circuit fried again and starts talking about tables. I enjoy a lot of the longer songs because they have less vocals.

Can - Tago Mago

relisten IMMINENT

Willyynova - TIBET ASANTE

Another amazing digicore record from deadAir

ARTMS - Club Icarus
80

Definitely one of the more unique kpop projects of the year. I love how they incorporate some funk and drum & bass into their songs

Titus Andronicus - The Airing of Grievances
72

I liked some of the parts that delved deeper into shoegaze/wall of sound, but most of it just fell limp to me.

John Coltrane & Red Garland Trio - John Coltrane with the Red Garland Trio [Traneing In]
80

Bass lacks a bit sometimes but the piano makes up for it.

Salty Dog - Salty Dog
83

Jimi Hendrix inspired guitar work

Yaya Bey - do it afraid
75

Two back to back 75+ releases from drink sum wtr. Gotta check these guys out

Ghais Guevara - The Other 2/5ths or: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Trench Baby
70

I feel like the production that Ghais has gone with Goyard ibn Said and this new mixtape doesn’t really fit his vocals and just overall is a lot weaker than the rest of his catalogue. There’s a lot of beats here that feel like they could work but just don’t.

Clairo - metal heart
73

mine had robot boy instead of buble gum. if that was replaced itd probably be like 78

Selena Gomez - I Said I Love You First
55

Cringy, surface level lyrics and the most radio friendly beats ever

LISA - Alter Ego
75

AOTY hates to see a fun album

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Phantom Island
80

cool, funky gizz album. Fans of windmill scene will like it. Jumps between a lot of different styles which I enjoy

Ngozi Family - 45,000 Volts
80

I listened to a slightly different version of this.

Fatboi Sharif - Let Me Out
60

I just don't have the stomach for it
