Lil Wayne - Tha Carter VI
45

First ever posthumous album released by a still living artist

Mac DeMarco - Salad Days
80

400th must hear album!

Rick Ross - Mastermind
85

Lifelong Mastermind defender

Beach House - Thank Your Lucky Stars
80

Very different from the normal Beach House style, incorporating some ideas from Gothic Rock and exploring LeGrand's vocal range

青葉市子 [Ichiko Aoba] - Luminescent Creatures

Pir means “to attack” like piracy
Somnia mean “to sleep” or like insomnia
Not sure if pirsomnia means “attack of sleep” or “too attack sleep” or what

Lady Gaga - MAYHEM
70

It’s fine. I feel like it was way too overproduced but it was a fun album that made some good points

Crystal Castles - (III)
75

Weakest of the trilogy

Cocteau Twins - Garlands
75

Rough around the edges for Cocteau Twins’ first album but still good with many highlights

Deftones - Around the Fur
90

I get it now

Steely Dan - Can't Buy a Thrill
80

Better than I was expecting. Do It Again definitely was the stand out track.

Blur - The Great Escape
75

Got my favorite blur song on it (Fade Away)

Westside Gunn - 12
58

WSG is always hit or miss

Lou Reed - Transformer
NR

I've heard some stuff from the velvet underground before so I came into this album expecting a lot more than I got. The beats felt lazy and boring, the vocals were nothing special and the lyrics were awful. I was waiting for the album to start for its entire runtime.

Ringo Starr - Look Up
70

The country hate on this forum is crazy

Abner Jay - I Don't Have Time to Lie to You
85

Although a few of the songs fall a little short, the instumentation and vocals are unique and amazing throughout the album. This is actually a compilation album of works made in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and Abner Jay was one of the leading contributers to blues, and by extension most of the music we have today. My Baby is Coming Back to Me is life changing

my bloody valentine - Isn't Anything

Creates a similar vibe to and shows a lot of the characteristics which would go into Loveless (one of my top 5 albums of all time), but falls flat on the individual song. They sound incomplete, and in general there's not much that separates each track from the one before it. The vocals are also really lacking, which is one of the best features in Loveless. Standouts are Sueisfine and I Can See It

Mac Miller - Balloonerism
80

Balloonerism is a lot different from Mac’s other albums in terms of production. It uses a lot of disconnected sounds to make this really interesting spacey mood. On Friendly Hallucinations, the funky dub bass and the clashing symbol clearly don’t belong together, or do the two vocal tracks being played on top of each other, but in this track it all comes together to make this spacey vibe that really embody the feeling of being on a trip. Off key singing on tracks like 5 Dollar Pony ... read more

George Harrison - George Harrison
85

A really cute and pleasant album. It feels very light while still having serious and important lyrics. The singing is amazing of course, and so are the beats and the production. The one thing I don't really get is the Here Comes the Moon hype, it didn't really stand out to me besides being similar in lyrics to Here Comes the Sun. There's nothing too special or super unique from this album, but its nice to just sit back and listen. Another critic L

Asian Glow - 11100011
75

I loved the airy atmosphere this album created. The music was lush and vibrant and it's a great example of distortion. I would recommend this album solely for the experience. It didn't have any individual standout tracks on the album, besides maybe Out of Time, but that's not too much a problem for these kinds of more character-based albums. This is more of a personal thing, but I feel like a lot of noise pop songs have these unnecessary choruses that break the tension that the ... read more

Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Some of the instrumental tracks felt a little draggy and overambitious but for the most part I liked the thematic drone and repetition of this album. Felt a lot more inspired by the British Invasion than their later work. Great, unique and influential debut
