Starts strong but got a bit shaky in the middle, which is a phrase I copy and pasted from his sergeant's progress report when he served as a correctional officer for 18 months from December 1995 to June 1997. Wouldn't call it a fall off though as the highs are comparable to Teflon Don and God Forgives, it just doesn't have the same consistency.

Some of Rick's best songs on this album. Probably his best produced/written full album too. Great features. Just a bit too long which opens the door for quite a few skips.

Ehhhh, this one's decent, but not of the higher quality of the last few albums. I think Rick Ross does alright on here, but honestly the boring tracks outweigh the bangers, but don't get me wrong, this still has some bangers. The production is standard Rick Ross, with some cool sampling being present on here. The features are still good, but there were a lot more mid features on here than previous ones. Overall, still a decent album from Rick Ross, but one of the worst ones in a bit. ... read more

I think rick ross actually tries his ass off on this album and it reaps incredible rewards

One thing is for sure. Rick Ross has an ear for production, one of the best in the game, and it shows on this album. Rapping wise, Rozay has gotten much better since his debut. Subject matter wise, if you are running to a Rick Ross album expecting anything different than what he normally raps about, by now it’s your fault. Mastermind is a very well put together album.
