Trying to get into Metal at the moment so I thought id start with something to ease me in so I landed on this record as there is lots of Hip-hop overlap, this was defiantly the right call as I connected with the record well. De la Rocha's voice fits the vibe of the instrumentation so well and goes hand in hand.
A fun and enjoyable time. As much as people discount pre Rubber Soul Beatles I think this album is really solid.
Lots of different influences in terms of sound I particularly like many of the raw folky tracks
A great collection of tracks. Some points lost from me as the non EP tracks are brilliant but feel slightly disjointed to the other tracks. Still a fantastic album however.
Some very memorable tracks in here but not amazing as a complete effort.
Catchy tracks which contain genuinely interesting topics, sounds and ideas.
The definition of chaos. Atrocity Exhibition feels like an insane sugar rush through Experimental and Abstract production.
Nothing will ever come close. The use of sounds such as Reggae and Ska isn't quite intended to be genre blending but it feels like they had a genuine love for these styles and wanted to express that by incorporating it in the music. It's not just great it's real.
Instrumentally is incredibly well constructed and very interesting concepts that were well executed.
So many interesting soundscapes are executed throughout this Record. Having the eerie and etherial sounds often supported by glitchy accents really works for me. On top of that Björk's vocals often have a very raw feel to them but still being delivered beautifully during every bit.
They made one of the most iconic albums which people still discuss 50+ years later. Some tracks take a chill and laid back route while others are grand, epic and full of energy.
