JVB returns with a deluxe of their best album, featuring some of their best songs yet
MAN BITES DOG is the long-awaited debut album by Electronic Duo femtanyl. For people unaware of them, Femtanyl is one of the artists I like to classify as ‘Queer-core Electronica’. What that means exactly is this type of experimental electronic music, sometimes leaning towards being harsh other times more atmospheric with very little in-between, usually with general inspiration from breakbeat/breakcore that’s deeply infused with the inherent defiance and angst of Queer art. ... read more
I’m a brand new development to the bbno$ mythos… self loathing!
Anyways I know this new stylistic turn has been a bit divisive among some people, some say he’s doing the white rapper special of abandoning rap, but personally I’m really liking this new alt/indie sound he’s really developing, and I’m very excited to see how it develops into potentially his next album
After 5 years of waiting for Baby Keem’s sophomore album, Child With Wolves, we got… not that, maybe if we wait another 5 year- actually let’s get back on track. Ca$ino is Keem’s second album, finally releasing after 5 whole years. This album has been a long time coming, so when Keem finally officially announced it on a random ass Tuesday I was very excited. Especially with how much it took people by surprise, I was very interested in seeing how it would turn out.

We’re only 2 months in, but I think I can confidently say 2026 has been one of the best years for comebacks we’ve seen in a while. So many artists are making their big returns after long multi-year release hiatuses and/or periods of building up hype with major albums. And this new album from Bruno Mars, The Romantic, coming 5 years after his last album and 10 after his last solo one, is probably the biggest one yet.
For how omnipresent Bruno has felt these last few years, ... read more
This is a great song when you’re not hearing it literally everywhere against your will
Something about two nickels. Anyways, Wuthering Heights (The Score) is the second Charli XCX related movie soundtrack of the year. As you may have known already, this soundtrack was made for the highly anticipated, and subsequently universally loathed, new Wuthering Heights adaptation from Emerald Fennell.
On a sidenote, and this may be a bit controversial, but I don’t think these two are truly that different in what they’re trying to do. They look at original source and remove a ... read more
When I first started really getting into K-Pop early last year, BLACKPINK was among the earliest groups I really got into. It was only really the big big hits because I’m a basic bitch, but those songs solidified the group as one I’d have a sustained interest in. So when this new EP/Mini-album was announced, after a group hiatus of 4 years, I was really excited, especially with how good last year was with all the solo releases. Perhaps my excitement was a bit ... read more
Took a song I already disliked and made it worse, wtf is Gigi doing 😭
Ever since I last checked out one of these, I’ve grown pretty wary of the whole ‘K-pop Group Does Japanese Album’ concept. The concept itself has merit, since Japan is right there and has an equally massive market for ‘Language Initial’-pop, but the issue is that they tend to have a very corporate taste to them. For every one where it feels like something the group wanted to put out, there’s at least like 3 more that feel like label projects, and even among ... read more
I’ve been really wanting to like Alex musically for a while and he might actually be doing that holy shit. Biggest glow up of 2026 it’s your turn next Forrest Frank
After like a decade of anticipation and build-up, Jermaine Lamar Cole finally released his supposed final album (it won’t be), The Fall Off. It’s really hard to undersell how big of a deal this dropping is, for both Cole’s fans and Cole himself. He’s been hinting at this since at least 2018’s KOD and has spent basically all of this current decade building up to it, with releases like the Lewis Street EP, and The Off-Season in 2020 and 2022 feeling like tastes of ... read more
Just about 3 years after his polarizing but popular third record, SMITHEREENS, Joji finally returned with his long awaited, newly independent, 4th, Piss In The Wind. It’s pretty collectively agreed by now that SMITHEREENS was probably a label thing more than something Joji wanted, so with this being fully his control now, and the new direction of the singles, I was very interested in seeing how this would turn out.
The most noticeable thing with this album is the much grimier, heavier ... read more
As a noted Demondice fan and someone with a general interest in VTubers, it’s pretty unsurprising that I was quite interested in this new Mori Calliope album. Especially after the last year or so, where she’s shown a very noticeable improvement in her music, with some pretty standout singles from last year like “Seeing Stars”. So going into I had pretty decently sized hopes, and, even if the album isn’t anything amazing, it still managed to surprise me.

Ts is so fucking funny I can’t fathom how people can still harbour hatred for this especially after they changed that one line. I gave this a full proper listen just now and I’m laughing ass off, people take this way too seriously especially when everyone who made this was like 16 when they did😭
Issbrokie has been on a really solid run so far this year, she dropped a pretty well-received album right at the start, she’s been dropping really well-received music under her shteppi alter ego, which is supposed to drop an album soon, and most relevantly, she dropped this collab album with BLCKK. I’m woefully underexposed to BLCKK, my knowledge of him starts and ends with him being a member of SPIDERGANG, and him helping pioneer Trap Metal, but ig it’s better late than never ... read more
Rosemary is the debut album by duo, Porcelain Stars, an offshoot of the larger Gingerbee. I’m not really familiar Gingerbee and their stuff, but I’ve heard generally positive things and then I saw this coming out, so I decided to give it a shot.
This is a really nice album. It has a very dreamy, folksy, storybook-esque vibe to it, like a childhood memory. My favourite tracks on this really play into that, like the opener and closer, “Venus/Mascara” and “Endless, ... read more
In 2020, Groggs of experimental and alternative hip hop trio Injury Reserve would pass away. The following year Injury Reserve would release their final album, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, with themes heavily interlinked with his passing. 2 years later, the group would be officially dissolved, before the reforming members re-debuted as the rapper-producer duo, By Storm, releasing a series of singles that ultimately lead to the release of their debut, My Ghosts Go Ghost. I give this whole ... read more
I admit my experience with his music is very limited, but from what I have listened to from him, Don Toliver has got himself quite a defined musical trait behind him. He’s able to make music where he’s not shining too much, but he’s also not necessarily boring or forgettable on his tracks, which I mean not as a slight against him, more as to say he’s really good at making music that’s great to vibe with. And from what I’ve given a listen to from him, ... read more
