143 is the 7th album by Katy Perry, released last year
Yknow, I knew I probably wasn’t gonna like this going in. I’ve known its reputation, I heard “Woman’s World” and way back when, I was aware of the drama. But before listening i thought, maybe i could find something to really like here, unfortunately I’m still looking.
There’s a lot I could say for “Woman’s World”. I could bring up the fact that it’s supposedly a female ... read more
Isolation is Kali Uchis’ 2018 debut album. This debut came off the heels of a pretty stellar year in 2017, banking a number of major features, with the likes of Tyler, the Creator, Bootsy Collins, Miguel, Daniel Caesar and Gorillaz. These features gave her a pretty massive boost in popularity, and set the stage for this album to be her real big break into the greater music zeitgeist, which, with hindsight especially, she totally managed.
I mentioned before in my Sin Miedo review that ... read more
It probably isn’t actually this bad, but it reminds me of all those boring ass Asian Pop minimalist ballads that feel like they’re just made to show off the artist’s singing ability. Like my first watch of this movie I was dying inside when this started playing💔
Clancy is the 7th album by Ohioan duo twenty one pilots.
Within the context of the band’s Blurryface saga, this is effectively the climax of the, at that point, 9 year story, chronicling the protagonists, Torchbearer and Clancy’s, preparations, and ultimate fight against Blurryface. Outside of the greater lore implications of the writing, the album is also pretty big on themes of mental, which is generally kind of typical for their projects.
Clancy is, to this point, twenty one ... read more
I’ll probably try and do a more proper review for this EP later, but, I think this is my Favourite Demondice release by a pretty healthy. I’m not really big on the first and last tracks, “Wannabe” is very irritating and “Soundless” is very boring, but I like everything in-between a good bit. “Alt-Er-Native!!” Is really fun and endearing, “Legendary Stray” has some unironically fantastic production, “Astronaut” is really ... read more
WHATMORE is the debut album by New York group, WHATMORE. Ever since the collapse of BROCKHAMPTON earlier this decade, there’s been a pretty big vacuum for that rap group boy band niche they invented/occupied. And while there have been many groups who have tried to successfully fill that niche, none have really stuck the landing fully yet, but this comes pretty damn close.
As I said already, WHATMORE is a New York based group. Currently they consist of 5 members, Cisco Swank, Yoshi T and ... read more
Short review incoming!
Hamilton is Lin Manuel Miranda’s 2015 musical, about the life, and death, of American Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton. If you wanna know why Lin Manuel has been ever in modern times, especially when it comes to Latin music, blame this play, it basically shot him into stardom.
So I watched Hamilton the other day with some friends, it was a very very fun musical, I’d only known a few of the songs and I was only vaguely aware of Hamilton’s life ... read more
bbno$ is the, self titled, 8th album by the Canadian rapper. This album marks bbno$’ first since his newfound internet success, post the release of his simgles “it boy” and “two”. These 2 singles have also been a catalyst for him taking a Hip-House turn with his music, for better or worse, as while it has gained him a lot of new fans, it’s also awarded him a lot of ire on certain online music spaces.
As you can tell by the score, I was quite a fan of this ... read more
Pop is dead, and Charli killed it
In 2019, Charli XCX dropped Charli, 5 years after her last studio album, Sucker, from 2014. In that 5 year period Charli really start redefining herself and developing her own unique identity, with the releases of her Vroom Vroom EP, with the late SOPHIE, and her mixtapes, Number 1 Angel and Pop 2. All 3 of these releases would feature Charli continuously experimenting with her sound, mainly into the genres of Electro and Hyperpop and Bubblegum Bass, and the ... read more
Reflective, Smooth and Powerful, MMESYF is Denzel Curry’s 5th Album.
Introspection and social commentary have always been major parts of Denzel’s music. From “Parents” to “If Tomorrow’s Not Here” to “CLOUT COBAIN” it’s hard to really that it’s any sort of new territory for him. But with MMESYF, he really delves into both topics in a way he hadn’t before, effectively dedicating the whole album to these two concepts.

I need to stop doing Horrorcore first listens in the middle of the night man, ts gonna give my nightmares someday💔
In 2020, experimental Hip Hop Trio, clipping., returned with Visions of Bodies Being Burned, the sequel to their acclaimed 2019 Horrorcore album, There Existed an Addiction to Blood
After listening to Dead Channel Sky from earlier this year, I was really looking forward to getting through the rest of clipping’s discography, and omg this was such a great album to continue ... read more
Dear fucking god man how did we get here
Even after time and time of growth and change as an artist and a person, Taylor still manages to prove us wrong once again, by pulling off her greatest feat as a musician yet, by showing us that she still somehow hasn’t learnt a single fucking thing. Taylor is an artist I love, who’s made music I’ll forever cherish, and especially with this being my first Album Cycle of hers, it makes what it ended up as, just a sore disappointment. ... read more
Negative Spaces is Poppy’s 6th album, released last year. Up till late last year I’ve only ever been familiar with Poppy through her YouTube stuff, so going from there to this is a pretty big jump. From what I know of her music up till now, she’s mostly been doing electronic style music, but starting around her 2018 album, Am I A Girl?, she really started playing around with metal, and has been showing more and more in her music since, most notably in her 2020 album, I ... read more
Sin Miedo, I’m not typing out the full name, is Kali Uchis’ 2nd Album, following her Breakout Debut Isolation. Despite how successful Isolation was for her, she decided fuck that, and took a pretty big shift for Sin Miedo, doing the album predominantly in Spanish, and going for a lot more Latin inspired sounds, with even hints of Bolero and Reggaeton found alongside the general Latin Pop stylings.
I think Kali is one of the best singers in pop music rn, and this album reinforces ... read more
My first listen to this album took me back a couple years, back to when I wasn’t really that deep into the music sphere. With the Beatles, I knew John and Paul ofc, and Ringo too he had the silly name, but not that other guy…
It’s really tragic that the mainstream view of George is as “the quiet beatle” taking backseat along side Ringo to the monster of Lennon-Mcartney, when he is just as, if not stronger, in some respects than those two. Even then, when I first ... read more
So fun little fact, this was supposed to be done like over a week ago, but I accidentally deleted the whole thing as I finished it…anyways onto the review.
Hmmm I don’t think I can say that word…
Uh yknow what fuck it I’ll find a workaround
GOLLYGEE, is underground rapper Billy woods’ most recent album. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the guy, he’s very much more on that lyrical side of rap, especially about like racism and black ... read more
