Ok I’m rewriting my review because the it was probably the worst one I’ve ever done. I first heard about this album when Charlie Wayne of BCNR posted about it on his story, saying how incredible it was. I was intrigued to listen to it as he is maybe my favourite member of the band, and also strangely is friends with my cousin. Going in I had zero expectations, but assumed from the title and cover it was some kind of electronic dance album. Oh how wrong I was. From the first seconds ... read more

The world is actually crazy right now, it’s surprisingly comforting to just see these two doing what they want and making sick music. I like that they can still easily and effortlessly tap into their old sound despite growing so much. Also, sometimes you just have to let Bladee rap Minecraft
This is it, I feel something akin to song machine or plastic beach in terms of the seamless blendings of styles on this now album. I haven’t heard a ton of sparks stuff, but from what I have heard this feels like a great collaboration and blending of their style with Gorillaz, which is what I see as the aim of gorillaz many collaborations, very excited for a new ambitious album. (Also I hope the story with the album is interesting, I remember Jamie and Damon saying they had a really good ... read more
I can’t hate on this because I no longer have Brad to tell me what to think
The rest of the band must’ve written this song as an excuse to fire their drummer
It took me a long time to come around on this album, but in reality all it really needed was a few listens. I listened to it once on the day it released back in October last year, but it really didn’t click with me at all, perhaps because I was so engrossed in their early work at the time that this really didn’t work all that well for me. However I had been meaning to come back to it and their other work for a while, so when I saw this for a good price in a record shop the other ... read more
This guy just doesn’t miss, Ghost Mountains references to Greek mythology are deep and layered throughout this song, and it’s genuinely incredible, I love his music so much, I can’t wait to listen to his album
Probably one of the best songs I’ve heard in this style, some of the lyrics are absolutely crushing, painting a vivid picture of a horrific supernatural depression, listening to this after seeing the artwork of Junji Ito’s Uzumaki, I just envision someone broken and starving, coiled into a hideously disfiguring spiral.
Genuinely beautiful, really hope he returns to this sound at some point in the future, very Jonatanleandoer96 inspired.
This guy is only the second best Josh Pearson to ever make music
Holy hell, I thought the last single I heard was amazing, this is on another level, it sounds like a combination of iggy pop and Black Country new road, I love it
Amazing song, reminds me a lot of contra era Vampire Weekend, I’d heard caught of Jerskin before being recommended this, but it’s safe to say I’m very excited for his next album now. The video is also amazing, you should definitely check it out as well.
This album is in my opinion his biggest leap artistically yet. That might be controversial, but for me there was always something slightly lacking in I didn’t mean to haunt you, it was great but I didn’t feel the personal connection between the concept and the artist behind it, it felt almost performative, but there is none of that here, it’s just incredible music, with a clear and deep personal connection, that also forms an interesting and engaging narrative. I think maybe ... read more
I feel like I’m kind of done with Kendrick after this album, his deep introspective works always worked better for me anyway compared to his ‘hit maker’ albums, and I really don’t know how much more introspection you can do after something like this, it really feels like a true and final purging of all his demons, all his families demons, and all his cultures demons. It thrives of off imperfections, and I don’t think it is necessarily a perfect album because of ... read more
This album is gonna be so disappointing, I’m calling it now. Ever since JID went back into the studio last summer and cancelled his album release I’ve been anticipating something close to the forever story quality wise. The first sign that we weren’t going to get that was the changing title from Forever And A Day to God Does Like Ugly, which was disappointing as I was expecting this to be the final concluding part to the Never Forever trilogy, but then the single WRK was also ... read more
This album is absolutely fantastic. Throughout most of it something feels off, after red bottom sky, a beautiful introspective track looking back and coming to terms with the trauma Jonatan experienced in the years before this album, it looks as if he is going back to his old bragidocious style of rap talking about women and drugs as well as flaunting money. However throughout all these songs the auto tune and production sounds off, almost sinister in a way, as if he’s avoiding something, ... read more
After a lot of thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that death grips would be the most intense mosh pit, as from videos I’ve seen it literally seems like everyone just completely lets loose of all their rage, and there aren’t many bands or artists that have as consistently high intensity discography as death grips, and even fewer who would deliberately design every set list to make the MOST intense and high energy concert possible. Beyond this however, I also just think that ... read more
