i... don't get it?
i mean, i like it. the thing is good. but beyond just appreciating the beauty of it? there's some kind of disconnect there that i don't think i can look past. this album is so odd to me because this is so up my alley, but then i sit there and listen to it and just feel nothing. well "nothing" is a strong word. it's more i feel like an outsider. this feeling of looking from the outside in is very prominent throughout every single point here, and it never goes away, ... read more
When you reach the end of the rope, do you fall or just stay still?
So I heard about this album from a rec someone gave, can’t remember who exactly, but I put it on the back burner and went along with my life. One day I decide to listen to it, not really knowing what I’m getting into. I read all the genres of course, so I wasn’t going in completely blind, but I still had no clue what this had to offer. So, what does it offer? Well it’s loud. It has a very distinct sound ... read more
Abstract hip-hop that takes a super hazy and psychedelic approach to the sound is sooooo good. Usually, cities aviv is somewhere in the mix, and that shows me just how good the project is gonna be. This album is so awesome, and oddly soothing. Lukah sounds incredible on these beats, and I can tell that he's gonna become one of my favorites. It's all so fun and smooth, making the listen move at a nice pace. If your a fan of hip-hop, you should give this underrated project a listen.
I'm gonna make a whole ass re-review of ultrapop and just make it my best review ever for shits and giggles.
Cuz wow this band is really amazing and spectacular and muscular (seriously everyone in the band is jacked)
But perfect saviors is still so underrated, and this song is probably top 5 in their discog. It's still so punchy and fun, but it has pop sensibilities that make it even more enjoyable. I hope their next record takes an even bigger step in combining hardcore stuff with pop, cuz ... read more
I, am a gay sheep.
Charli, my mother shepherd.
Let us go to the land of floptopia, together.
I thought his hair was connected to the mic for a solid while ngl ππ
But uh… yeah this is pretty good. Definitely not as good as any other injury reserve stuff, but it still holds up nicely. It breezes by, and what we get are tracks that hold at least some value. It sucks that it was a bit underbaked, but I’ll take what I can get from Ritchie. It’s amazing that both him and Parker are still making music, and that it can still turn out this good.
Scratches that cities aviv itch, so I’m obligated to like it.
(Plus he produced it, gotta show up for my boy)
Definitely an awesome project.
The word that swirls around my mind when I listen to this album is “impressive”. Everything done here and everything sam was able to capture, it’s all impressive. From the gorgeous builds, to the textures, to the emotions it can evoke, each aspect obviously took time and heart to make. It’s truly a step into something bigger, something that will take even more heart to accomplish, but I know that sam is going to do big things. Impressive ... read more
This album feels like piñata but everyone was collectively drunk in the proses of making it.
It’s a good album, yeah, but it feels like some of the magic and chemistry fizzled out.
Like the beats are all good, but they don’t reach the levels of past projects. Same with Freddie and his rapping.
It’s a shorter endeavor than piñata though, so at least it doesn’t drag.
I think that this project could’ve been a lot better, but what we got is still pretty ... read more
Honestly one of the best hip hop projects I’ve ever heard.
Even with all the interludes, they still convey such a punchy and charming attitude.
The creativity is off the charts too, it’s so impressive.
Highly underrated, and quite frankly more deserving of attention than some other shoegaze and dream pop artists out there.
This album is so gorgeous, and it’s so lush in the atmospheres it creates. At times a bit rough too, but even then it just adds to the charm.
The way most music may fly under the radar for people is truly sad, but finding these hidden gems is well worth the search.
I rented a horse named boober and terrorized my local park, it was so awesome.
I wasn’t expecting to love something so British, this goes against my extremely American values!
Quick, someone donate another billion to the army!
Ok, I’m gonna admit something crazy, and you guys can’t shove me into a meat grinder.
I don’t like idles first albums at all.
DONT SHOOT ME PLEASE.
I’m not crazy about that kind of punk at alllll, and idles first projects are everything I hate about the genre.
Vocals are not my cup of tea, and the instrumentation gets monotonous after the third track.
So when I saw that this album was a switch up of styles, I had to give it a try.
And yeah, it’s definitely more my ... read more
When I trace the start of my interest in music, it falls back to these guys. Everything I was, everything I am today, and everything ill be in the future is in part due to these individuals and the art they've crafted. This story has followed me since I even took interest in a single note, and to see its end is truly beautiful.
These songs are unique in their discography, and to me that adds so much to the listening experience here. To discover these sounds along with them and everyone else ... read more
