Does absolutely everything it needs to in its 24 minute runtime. One of my favourite albums through its sound, emotional themes and lyricism.
NITROUS 2
¥$' 'VULTURES 2' has as many good tracks as it has bad tracks, but the album is so average its high points stand out like crazy.
Let's talk about songs. Why the fuck is there an 8 second interlude? Why? It adds literally nothing and just makes the album sound goofier than it already did. Also, North saying basic Japanese phrases and literally nothing else feels so repetitive and lifeless. Also, why did 'HUSBAND' get added at the end of ... read more
I won't be on tomorrow so I'm gonna celebrate this today. Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary for my aoty account! I'm thrilled Peggy dropped this today so I could talk about this, but nonetheless it's been amazing interacting with the community, I've always had so much fun on here, and all of the music I've heard has brought me here today. Thanks for being with me for one year, and here's to a good time ahead of us in this community. ... read more
Wow, what a way to retire.
Jay-Z's '4:44' is one of the strongest rap albums of 2017, and the themes present in this album show for it. From personal family lives to stories of love, infidelity and m̶u̶r̶d̶e̶r̶e̶r̶s̶ football players, this album has everything you'd expect from a conscious Jay-Z album.
The final album from Jay-Z reflects on his life and his family. It's so personal and confronting that you feel like you're a part of him by the end of the ... read more
GYAAAAAAAATTTTTT
Ice Spice's 'Y2K!' features some of the worst songwriting I've heard this year, which is literally comparable to Emily Montes' self titled, and she was like 5 at the time of her album's release. This album is comparable to a pre-school child, and that speaks volumes.
I want to start by saying the songwriting is some of the worst imaginable, and if she was some sort of meme rapper like Onision I'd understand, but no, she's putting out ... read more
The world's favourite duo of man-child rappers are breaking into 2024 with one hell of an album.
Joey Valence and Brae's 'NO HANDS' consists of some of the hardest instrumentals ever, while also maintaining some sort of playful tone with its lyrics and voice. It's such a fun listen, with the funny verses mixing in with some holy production.
A major standout of this album is how well Danny Brown performs on 'PACKAPUNCH'. His verse and voice ride so well with ... read more
Overrated.
Charli xcx's 'BRAT' feels like a collection of hit-or miss songs, it really feels like the album goes from a good song to a bad song, with an exception here and there. It feels like half its songs were purely made for the club and some of the songwriting on here isn't sticking out to me and feels repetitive.
I want to take 'b2b' for example. A lot of it is the same set of lyrics being repeated over and over with a little verse and a bridge thrown in ... read more
I really don't know what to say.
Porter Robinson's 'SMILE :D' does a lot more than make you smile. Its songs are emotionally present and everything blends into each other so amazingly in every way. Each song has a lot of meaning behind it, and it's something that's so important in an album.
This is my introduction to Porter. I've never heard of any of his music, but damn, I made the right choice giving this a listen. The sound is so distinct and unique in ... read more
Thank you to my friend for suggesting this album to me.
I never thought I'd be reviewing country, but here we are. Zach Bryan's self titled LP is made in a way where all of the same but diverse sounds keep me interested, his voice helps me understand his background and stories, and the features work so fucking well on this album.
The first couple starting tracks are decent, but if some instruments were more hidden they'd work way better than they already do. That being said, ... read more
'The Death Of Slim Shady' might as well mark the death of Eminem's career.
Eminem's latest album 'The Death Of Slim Shady' is an album full of hit-or-miss tracks with some songs such as 'Fuel' being a stand out, and other songs like 'Habits' where he tries to cling on to his controversial avatar for a bit more before he supposedly kills him off.
For a "conceptual album", it feels like it lacks the storyline that you'd expect on ... read more
While not the perfect album sonically, this gets a 100 purely for how much this has helped me in my life
This is THE SHIT. Also The Recipe might be the best deluxe song in the history of music.
While this album has quite a bit more of instrumental than lyrics than what fits me, this album is fucking phenomenal and is one of the greatest rock pieces I've ever heard
This is an amazing album but I believe there are better Kendrick albums such as GKMC (my personal favourite) and TPAB.
edit 87 -> 94: nvm guys this album is actually really nice. still gkmc and tpab will be better
4batz comes with his debut mixtape. Sadly, he missed.
4batz had a lot of buzz around him with his singles stickerz "99", date @ 8, and on god? (she like). However, the other songs can't match the level of value these three songs have.
The songs in these albums are quite short but have a slowed down part of the song at the end which is unnecessary and just adds nothing to the songs, making it worse, and it probably caters to tiktok kids.
4batz puts Ye on a remix of his song on god? ... read more
