Kanye West's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' serves as proof that you can drop an album during one of the lowest points of your career and still be one of the best to ever do it.
Ye is well, a peculiar artist, to say the least. With so many controversies over the years, he has as many fans as he has haters. In this case, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' was released a year after Ye interrupted Taylor Swift at the VMA awards. He had gone back to Hawaii to work on ... read more
Honestly I really love this, as a throwaway/compilation album this actually is so amazing. Just wonder what else Kendrick hasn't put out that's on such a high tier.
"Schlristmas"'s voice was so angelic and jazzy, it almost made me forget about what he did in 1999
This song shares all the problems like half all of the dance-pop songs ever created have. Shitty chorus and weird ass vocals backed by some janky beat in the background. In rare cases it does work, but most of the time it turns out to not be so great like this song.
Fuck Grade A, Interscope, and anyone who was involved in making more money by leeching off this man's name. Not only is this an obvious cash grab like almost every other posthumous release, but this is just trash. A song is vaulted for a reason, it's the same reason why XXXTENTACION's 'Bad Vibes Forever' happened, because it's just a bunch of people wanting more money so they pile up some poor quality music with trash mixing throughout. Cash grab, bad songs, should ... read more
I really like this mixtape, although it has some duds here and there, it's still solid and holds some of his most famous songs which are also so good.
The best way to wake up is to wake up to a surprise Kendrick album
This is definitely an album. Kendrick switches everything up and releases quite the upbeat album, and while he does keep the deep songs at times throughout this album, it's mostly a pretty vibey album. I'm very happy that the Broccoli snippet came in full, and now we need the Alright snipped and my life is his. Also, the heart part 6 was amazing, like his other songs in the heart series.
All in all, while not his ... read more
Interesting EP to say the least
Jbjohnston2011's first ever EP 'Tranquilizer' is, well, quite the project. Its strange moments are outshined by the more normal ones, and for what kind of sounds experimental at some points just didn't hit the mark. Other songs however, like 'Obliterate' and 'Conscience' come off well as what they're meant to be.
Being mainly an electronic album, some songs feel like they're made for Geometry Dash, but you also ... read more
I really don't think this was the right decision from Linkin Park. It doesn't feel right in a sense that what used to be there now isn't and all that is left is for the existing and new members to make more money off the name. This isn't about that though, it's the music.
'From Zero' was one of the most anticipated albums as of recent, but it really fell short. There were a lot of expectations and standards placed on the new singer, Emily Armstrong, to ... read more
With some of the greatest production and heavy hitting bars from its time, Wu-Tang Clan has one of the best debuts of all time.
'Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)' is home to some of the most famous rap songs, like 'C.R.E.A.M.' and 'Protect Ya Neck'. This album has some of the most amazing and influential production of all time, and we've seen their style evolve through different artists and genres.
At the time of release, Wu-Tang Clan had 8 members, and they ... read more
According to AOTY (and me), BoyWithUke has released an LP better than these peoples' 2024 LPs/EPs:
- Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign (x2)
- Lil Uzi Vert
- Eminem
- Taylor Swift
- Drake
- Justin Timberlake
- The Voidz
- Alec Benjamin
- Gunna
- Kid Cudi
- J. Cole
Just think about that.
