I definitely need to let this thing soak more, but right now I'm really enjoying this, one of his better albums. All of the songs are enjoyable, of course you'd hope so it being only 7 songs long, but I really appreciate the quality > quantity focus that hasn't been popular recently (looking at you, Migos). You can hear the Kudi influence all over this thing, so if you're not a fan of his music chances are this is your least favorite Kanye album. But, like Kudi I love this style, it's a nice ... read more
This thing was a journey. Although extremely hard to adjust to after my first listen, I really got used to this thing. I love it's weirdness, it's breaking of every music rule ever created, and I can only imagine how even crazier this would have sounded in the 60s. Although I think it got too experimental to the point of gibberish at times, with songs like Hair Bake 1 and Wild Life that sound like a trumpet imitating nails on a chalkboard, songs like Frownland and Dachu Blues have their own ... read more
Rich Brian's debut "album" (despite what he says, I still believe it to be an album) is about as solid as I believed it to be. While the singles leading up to the project still far outweight a lot of the other tracks, there's still some good songs I like to revisit like Cold and Introvert.
It starts out strong with songs like Amen, Cold, Introvert, Occupied etc., but does cool down pretty bad in the middle section of the album (besides See Me). The Offset feature leaves more to be ... read more
With the first single from this project being the high energy banger, BOOGIE, I did not expect this album to be so emotional and introspective. Saying that, BROCKHAMPTON executed it like every project they've made: perfectly.
As per usual, Kevin's raw, emotional, memorable choruses are the highlights of the album, but the emergence of Joba on this album is what really makes me stand out. BOOGIE, ZIPPER, HOTTIE, and the chorus on STAINS are all better than any verse he's ever done on any of the ... read more
The best trap album I've ever heard. It's vibrant, banging instrumentals along with Travis's robotic voice make for an enjoyable and unforgettable listen. The simple lyricism did leave a lot to be deserved, and some tracks overdosed on being a "banger" and completely washed over me, but enjoyable nonetheless.
