This album just wasn't as enjoyable as the one before, but this was by no means a bad album. It was this album that marked the beginning of the end for Incubus, their albums only get worse from here. This album was still quite good though.
The sampling used in this album is really nice and it has a very calming feel to it. This album does get a little slow at times, though.
I'm sorry I gotta do you like this Big Byrdy, but what the fuck was this? This album was literally just sounded mouth rape on a mic. And the beats are weird, but not in a good way. There was only one track on here I found somewhat enjoyable, and it was an INTERLUDE and you weren't even singing for most of it.
There's definitely a bit of nostalgia bias when I say this, but this is probably the best song based off a video game.
I'm gonna be totally honest, this album is overrated as fuck. This sounds like the type of shit you hear on pop radios or on TikTok. It's very boring and kind of even annoying. Also wanna mention the stupid ass cover. That shade of green hurts my eyes and the title is just plainly lazy. I don't know, I guess I'm just a hater.
This song is the absolute GOLD STANDARD for cloud rap. This gave me some of the hardest goosebumps I've ever had for music.
This "album" reminds me of Big Byrdy only with better production and even shittier singing. It really doesn't deserve that name because this shit shouldn't really even qualify as an album.
This album is.. odd. Exactly why I like it! JPEG had to have been on some stimulant while making some of these songs. I also enjoy how he features Danny Brown in like every song, the two's voices I think pair very well together.
I actually found out that this album apparently ties into the lore of an album called Sludgebath, but that isn't really why I listened to the album (I liked the cover). Anyway, the production in this album was just absolutely phenomenal. It's really just crazy how the beats just drill right into your cranium, and really the only thing keeping this album from 90s tier was moreso in lyrical flatness than anything.
This album has a really unique sound to it that you won't find in really any other well-known hip-hop albums. It's weird in an almost perfect way. Also, MC Ride sounds like a fucking idiot and it just... works somehow.
I really do see why people say modern rock sucks. All this album was were just boring ass guitar riffs and mediocre lyrics. I guess it's not really bad, per se, just a boring as fuck album. A nothing burger.
"In the Meantime" was the only track I liked from this album, and I honestly think it'd better as a single. It really feels like that was the only song the band actually put a shred of effort in. The rest of the album just really wasn't enjoyable besides that one song :(
This is genuinely one of the best albums I've ever listened to. The mad amount of creativity that went into this album is very commendable.
I mean most of the music is good, but like not phenomenal or anything.
They make up for repetitive lyrics in exchange for the best fucking guitars ever
I personally like this album, but I definitely know this work is far from great.
