A lot of songs sound the same, but with the story behind every song, and what Mike was going through at the time, it's surprising that he's done so well on the album. Only song I really don't like is Running From My Shadow, solely for grandson's part. Don't really love his voice but whatever.
Something about the album just feels kinda off to me. There is so much potential with the lyrics and writing, but something's missing that leaves most songs without a pop factor.
Edit: Sounds better on cd, and for that reason, 63 -> 68
The fact that one person made all of this is astounding, especially with how good every single song is.
Unfortunately, as much as I would love to sing the praises of this album, the rest of this website is deaf I guess. Now, some parts of the album feel a little boring or unremarkable, but even though this site seems to hate it, I love White Horse. It's very unique as far as Skillet goes, and it's a really nice blend of dubstep and rock with some cool lyrics and a dope vibe overall. The title track also goes insanely hard.
I don't understand why so many people hate this album. Yeah, sure, it's very Christian, and as a Christian, I naturally lean towards it, but the production, instrumentation, and mixing makes for a decently powerful and interesting album. Ash in the Wind and Fire Inside of Me are basically the same song though.
Another really well mixed French song with great percussion that goes great with tennis.
As taboo as this genre is, this is definitely one of, if not the best albums of all time from the style. Really well mixed and has some great melodies.
Had so much potential, but just inexplicably flopped and missed. Has a few alright tracks (aka literally just HALLUCINATIONS) but the rest is just sad.
Grew on me a ton, kind of like an Artificial Intoxication track a few years after the album dropped, but still good.
First part of drop 1 blows, literally the simplest drop that could've been, but everything else is fine. The effects on the vocals make them really pop. One of the better parts of the track.
