I didn’t find it as enthralling as What’s Your Pleasure? but the grooves are still fabulous and the vocals are still silky.

Well damn, I guess it really is his best album. This is the most airtight Vince has ever sounded (which is saying something) and the instrumentals on this thing are so RICH.

Sparse and spacey. Not necessarily a captivating listen, but I don’t think that’s what it’s going for anyway. Worth checking out.

Some of Tierra’s dreariest output, but still giving enough space for her humorous streak to show. Not quite the bubbly kaleidoscope Whack World was, and some of the ventures into different styles, though respectable, didn’t really pan out as well as they could’ve. Nevertheless, I thought the album to be a nice enough experience.

Felt like I was getting too spoiled on good music lately and decided to give this a listen. Bad idea.
All things considered, this isn’t as excruciatingly painful a listen as I was afraid of (though a couple tracks fall into that area), more just normal bad. The songs are allergic to nuance, have tacky instrumentation, and Tones’s vocal inflections are… definitely something, but going off what I heard about Welcome to the Madhouse, I was preparing for something truly ... read more
It’s murkily cacophonous fun for the whole (lyrically incestuous) family!

Starts off really strong but sort of comes undone a little bit in the latter half. Vince’s delivery is still smooth and slick, even if it’s not always as weighty as I’d like, and there’s still a good deal to enjoy on this project, just feel like it’s kind of a retread.

Welp, the band continues showcasing their talent for title tracks and mixes a succulent helping of 60s psychedelia with prog-pop sensibilities for a kaleidoscopic tapestry of an album.

Far and away his mellowest album - delivery comes across as sleepy and disengaged occasionally, but the project overall maintains the consistency of Vince’s prior outings.
