Taylor Swift - 1989

extremely close to pop perfection. With the exception of 'bad blood' which i find to be melodically boring and production-wise grating, this album is bulletproof pop songwriting; hypnotising melodies; pristine production with soaring choruses; passionate vocal performances; sonically cohesive and smart songwriting.

Favourites: blank space, style, out of the woods, ayhtdws, i wish you would, clean

Least fav: bad blood

Beaming with personality and talent. This recording will never fail to make me emotional. Stars is the single greatest live performance ever.

'Big time nothing' which has a backing bass synth that sounds like it's off Bjork's 'Army of Me' yet contains moments of percussion that I might expect off a Talking Heads record., to the song 'Flea' which starts off with a seductive old-fashioned guitar riff that I might hear on a 60's rock n roll song, but explodes into a head banging chorus to 'Broken Man' ... read more
