Why does she always have to write about serious topics in such a dumb, corny way? It’s been more than 10 years and her lyrics are STILL terrible
It feels diluted, with interesting ideas that never fully take off. Has a few tracks that hint at a stronger potential but the album drifts out of them quickly with the bloated amount of songs, Joji could benefit of a more curated tracklist.
My favorite Sufjan album and one of my favorites of all time
This album was released in the middle of tragic circumstances: Sufjan lost his partner, publicly came out while announcing his death, and went through treatment for a serious autoimmune disease; Any one of these experiences could break even the strongest person, but Sufjan takes all that sorrow and pain and turns it into something incredibly beautiful and inspiring, using powerful folk and electronic arrangements alongside a choir ... read more
Taylor hits an ever lower point in her career, she doesn’t feel like a serious artist anymore. Those lyrics are the worst I’ve ever seen in a pop singer, to think she did folklore at a point in her life makes this even more disappointing, I have lost any type of respect for her
Pretty much hit or miss. Production-wise it has a few interesting tracks, the concept of fatherhood is well put within the album and easily identifiable, but sonically it lacks consistency and tbh the lyrics tend to be really corny. An improvement over his previous records though
Favs: Wash, Father Figure, Rich and Broke
Worst: Wash2, Italia Breeze
A standout moment in her career—ambitious, vibrant production, filled with passionately delivered vocals. A turnaround in her artistry I wish she continues to follow.
They should take away all the grammy’s she won for ‘Flowers’ and give them for this song

For me, this is when Madonna started to embrace her artistry with her music. This album is rich sonically speaking, variating between influences and genres, proving her capability of utilizing different musical resources and to adapt it to herself to make something unique for the time.
Favs: Papa Don’t Preach, Live To Tell, La Isla Bonita
Least Fav: Jimmy Jimmy

Her attempt of maintain relevancy sacrificing a little bit of quality.
‘Like a Virgin’ is such an important moment in Madonna's career, given her iconic VMA’s performance and the success she achieved with ‘Material Girl’ and the self-titled song; it’s an album in which was more important what she did with it than the music itself. It’s as vibrant as her predecessor, but shallow at the same time, ... read more

The one who started it all.
This is a really solid debut, it follows the standards of every 80’s pop record, but has a unique touch combining a vibrant soundscape and production with Madonna’s vocals. Overall a more than decent record and marked the beginning of a star.
Favs: Lucky Star, Holiday, Think of Me
Least fav: I Know It
It’s one of her most solid and cohesive albums, it manages to maintain certain quality throughout the album, however she didn't take many risks and played it safe.
fav: bye, eternal sunshine
