Super What is a posthumous album from MF DOOM, and I honestly didn't like it that much. Let me be clear: this album is not bad because of its posthumous status. It isn't even bad. As far as posthumous releases go it's a very well done example. This clearly isn't the result of major label greed, it doesn't even hurt DOOM's reputation, and all the money is going to his family; the people he rapped to support. In terms of his legacy, this is a net positive on all ... read more
Flies is a colab between Jeff Rosenstock and Cheekface. One that I didn't even know about until now, but one that perfectly makes sense. I mean they're both at the top of the market when it comes to simple fun rock music with a twinge of quirk to it. Their sounds are also extremely similar - though Jeff's is a bit heavier - even including the same contrast between a fun sound and utterly dreadful lyrics. His addition pretty much makes half of the song too. The itself is pretty ... read more
Grace is a pretty legendary rock album that I never really took the time to look into. I only ever knew about Jeff's unfortunate passing afterwards, which is very tragic. May he rest in peace.
The album though... I just kind of found it to be pretty good and not much more. Yes, I know recency bias has definitely had a massive influence on this take, but that genuinely is how I see it. I really do respect this album though. Even if I didn't find it particularly dazzling, it's an ... read more

Production wise, this a pretty cute and charming little lo-fi project. The performances though, aren't very good. I feel kinda bad for saying that because much like the production, the lyrics are simple, but still have the ability to stand out. the performances are really just that bad. It's a bit hard to describe just how it's bad too. Like there clearly is some experience behind this project, but not enough. In a way it stands in ... read more
Endless Nameless is technically the closer to Nirvana's landmark album: Nevermind. It wasn't added to the end of the album until later pressing, and continues to be excluded from a majority of physical copies today. For this reason the tracklisting is a little inconsistent. Streaming has familiarized most listeners with thirteen track version of the album, while most physical releases include just twelve. The tracklisting on AOTY concedes with the ladder, I prefer the the version of ... read more
Sophie is a self titled posthumous album for the late Sophie, who was taken far too early, with a discography consisting of only one project. I decided to revisit that album before I cam to this one, and I have to say it's better than I remember it. I probably won't review it any time soon until I have more to say, but I will say that I've never witnessed a cross between pop and experimentation quite like it. I honestly didn't even know it was possible. This posthumous ... read more
I don't think I've been very vocal about this before, but I do not like electro swing. It's a cross between two vastly different genres with a lot of potential based on its concept. It also seems very difficult to make actually passable - and unfortunately never seems to catch of the attention of those who can do it correctly. It also just has the reputation of Demondice and Fake Type forever attached to it in my mind. Clover, however, lives up to the potential of the genre ... read more
Venomous Villain is my 1,000th rating on AOTY. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that I've listened to a total of 1,000 albums. About 200 of those ratings are singles. For this semi special occasion, I decided to finally finish off DOOM's main discography.
Despite DOOM being my favorite artist, I've pretty much avoided this album for a while now. This was mainly because I knew of its status as a cash grab before its actual quality, and I thus thought it wasn't ... read more

They always be singing What Color Is God's skin
Contrary to what the title would lead you to believe, this is really just a remix album by Madlib. Most of these songs here a from Madvillainy with different beat, some new instrumentals appear, one song is a Mouse and the mask remix, and one song is entirely new. I already have a review on Monkey Suite though so I won't talk about it here.
I actually don't know the origins of these beats, but it would haver been super cool if these remixes were made with some of the unused beats ... read more
Rabbit on the Moon advertised this as a terrible project, and specifically asked everyone to give it a zero. I will abide by that request, but this project is actually way better than their first album. I mean if its intent was to be bad than it kinda failed. Sure, it's not like this is a great album, but I enjoyed listening to it a lot more than I did their debut.
Actual score: 63
The Magic Show is pretty obviously a collection of files made in Bandlab by @90210, but I don't want anyone reading this to take that away as a necessarily bad thing. Sure, it hurts the listening experience a lot, but I won't act like I haven't had my fair share of music similar to that. I mean you could hear it on a youtube channel if you can find it(no I'm not linking it). I mean there was clearly more effort put into this than the music I made. To me, this comes from an ... read more
