Low fidelity means music or production quality in which elements usually regarded as imperfections in the context of a recording or performance are present, sometimes as a deliberate choice
Put simply, I don't get the same charm and feeling that I do from Volume Alpha. I won't try to convince you that everything pertaining to Minecraft past a certain point sucks, I want to do anything but that. I just feel like it's missing something that Volume Alpha had. I doubt it's nostalgia since I only started playing the game when both of these soundtracks were implemented. I just think Volume Alpha is a better stand alone ambient album than this. I'll listen to this tomorrow and give an update on my full thoughts, but I thought it'd be fun to do a live review on this project, and I guess I should just begin with my expectations. The general reception of this album's lead up has been extremely decisive. It deserves every ounce of praise it gets.
It finally clicked for me!
I used to have this album at a 55, mostly because I didn't remember a lot from my first listen. I always knew I would probably have to listen to it again to fully understand it, and I was right. Nine Simone is haled as one of the greatest singers/songwriters of all time, and that already seems deserved based on this project alone. I do want to dive deeper into her discography, so it's likely that I'll update this when I do listen to more of her music. ... read more
