Fushmans Deep Dive #6: THE FISH & THE MAN
Here we are. Long Season stands as the Fishmans' most iconic studio album. It's an essential project that's sure to completely blow you away at least once. It's a thirty minute journey that transcends all barriers of language just out of its own beauty. Thirty five minutes of the dreamiest music ever recorded.

Fishmans Deep Dive #5: Fsh..Man
Fishmans final evolution into dream pop. These final three studio albums are what they're known for, and thus is just pure bliss. While as mind blowingly ambitious as the next albums they would go on to release, this project stands as a well textured blend of their two styles.

R.I.P. Lennie. He didn't deserve it.
Powfu should honestly cut his losses and become a producer instead of a rapper. The sample flip is unironically great, and it comes from a genuinely good song. The rapping, however, is horrible. Powfu can barely write sonething geniune that has actual effort into it. This doesn't help how dark the subject matter is, being a song about someone dying young who doesn't feel ready to do so. Pretty much the epitome of a sound cloud rapper.
Fishmans Deep Dive #2: Manfishainy
This project more or less has the same style as King Master George. No new develops are made with the Fishmans' sound, but it's a very fun and structured listen.

I liked when Curely got his hand broke by Lennie. He shouldn't have tried to fight him. I hope they do actually get the land they want. I don't like Curley's wife.
Fishmans Deep Dive #3: Fishville Villian
This record takes Fishmans back to more straight forward reggae than the last. The psychedelic aren't very apparent to me, but that could just be because I have no idea what warents a record as psychedelic. I could go on about how I think it's a stupid genre that makes zero sense, but I won't. This record's just okay. Nothing to hate, but nothing to praise.

Their career had just become a straight up Mr. Morale arc at this point
Yeah this song is really just dumb fun that unfortunately fails to convey its irony all that well.
Fishmans Deep Dive #2: Fish Me to Your Man
This is already an improvement from their first. It combines the reggae sounds of their debut with psychedelia. This makes it a lot more unique than Chappie. Obviously this change is also just a massive step in their journey to what they would go on to do, and hearing the in between from that is really interesting.
I've been doing some reading while listening to these albums too, so from this point onward in the dive I'll be talking about the book ... read more
Fishmans Deep Dive #1: Operation: Fishday
Chappie Don't Cry is the first album by Japanese rock group, Fishmans. I know they experiment with a lot of sounds throughout their discography, so I decided to do a deep dive on them. I feel like that's a better reason than the last one I did so I could make Kendrick Lamar puns.
So, before they were making legendary and boundary breaking music, they were making reggae and dub. I'm not exactly a fan of either of those genres, so I found this album to ... read more
Shiny production and hopeful performances from both Ye and Cudi. Why does Kurt Cobain have a writing credit?
Yeah I don't really care. That isn't because of Alexis though. This album is certainly more valuable than he'll ever be, and I would recommend you try hear it at lease once. That aside I simply haven't clicked with this project, and Alexis really put a strain on that ever happening.
Me trying to understand a highly praise album challenge(IMPOSSIBLE)
that's how my relationship with this record feels. I just don't get it. I don't hate it by any means I just can't click with it. The sampling completely blows me away, but only when I hear about how it was pulled off. Every other aspect is fine.
