Phoebe Bridgers - Stranger in the Alps

Life is Strange ahh music [This album was listened to on vinyl ~ No track ratings]
This is some beautiful and sweet indie folk! As someone who prefers noises grating against my ears or blasting out my speakers, this was a lovely change of pace! There are a lot of subtle touches and nuances that make this album worth coming back to time and time again. The production on here is BEAUTIFUL and uses it's pallet of pianos, guitars and drums extremely well. There are some moments of this album ... read more

7 Trumpets, 8 actual songs and the most obvious, worst filler in the history of music
I mean, it's as bad as I expected and there were moments that I heard old M.i.A. peeking through. However, This album wasn't just horribly mediocre, it was frustrating because there are so many directions that demonstrated growth and reinvention with ethereal strings and her unique singing voice but didn't take them. It felt almost half-assed the way some songs played about. JESUS starts out ... read more

"Witches can't find me, even if they're using Waze" made me laugh for like 5 minutes after listening
But yeah, it's as bad as people say. Not even the production can save this.

M.I.A. - EVERYTHING

No... Just no...
This single basically confirms my suspicion that, when the album releases, it's gonna be a hatelisten session from me. I cannot believe this is the same woman that wrote TEQKILLA and Bad Girls. This is an insult to who M.I.A. was and what made her cool. The production on this CARRIES. I love the violins and the drumming but that's it. Her vocals are obnoxious on here with 'All of my laiiii' being the chorus. This song is the lowest point of songwriting for ... read more

THE experience album of all time
I have been silently reviewing Pink Floyd as request to one of my friends who's a massive fan of them and I thought they were pretty neat. They're extremely innovative, especially during their time of the 60s-70s, and their music is timeless. You could tell me that Dogs released yesterday by an underground, bandcamp rock band and I'd believe you. With that said, their magnum opus, The Dark Side of the Moon demonstrates a massive turning point for ... read more

She needs to revisit this style
63 my ass. This is an amazing post-industrial album. This album sounds like something SOPHIE or 100 gecs would make back in like 2018. There is some filler on here that could've been baked a little longer but there are some HEAVY hitters on here. Namely title track. I'd first like to ask, why are we collectively hating on title track because this song is PEAK Post-Industrial, it's clear most people that reviewed this aren't into the genre or ... read more

My guiltiest of guilty pleasures
I cannot bring myself to hate this album, even if I tried. This album was with me when no one was. As a kid, I remember listening to Mad Hatter and feeling understood for once. Unlike my other reviews, this review is gonna come from a place from my heart than my head (I seemed to have replaced my brain with my heart lol)
This album has it's bad moments. It has it's moments where I pause and question what I just heard. It's weird sometimes, but I ... read more

WAY too much filler
So yall remember L+F, right? If not, it's okay, you didn't miss much anyway. So this album is just L+F but with better writing and violins in the mix. I do mean there's better writing on here, there are some really fun lyrics such as title track, Cuntissimo and Cupid's Girl. There will be people who'll say,"Oh this album is corny" but I think that was the vibe she was going for. She was being corny enough that her fans would get her, and as ... read more

Grimes - Miss Anthropocene

Disappointing Follow Up to Art Angels
With that said, this album doesn't lack the experimentation Grimes is known for. She weaves a lot of interesting rhythms on here that never cease to surprise me, unfortunately it gets predictable after a few listens and there are a lot of directions on this album that are... questionable. Namely Darkseid. I love the atmosphere on this song but Pan sounds like she's running away from the beat. The autotune is obnoxious as well. There are also ... read more

Robyn - Sexistential

At least she's happy...
First project by Robyn that I'm listening to and this is... rather dull and inconsistent. The first half of the album is horribly forgettable with cookie-cutter synthpop songs that vaguely wink at the possibility of sex. The only standout tracks on here are opening, Talk to Me and Into The Sun, with the latter being a really good song that's unfortunately stuck on a mid album. I loved the sci-fi esque bass sweeps and the spacey aesthetic of it. I feel like ... read more

THANK YOU @zig FOR THE REC APPRECIATE YOU <33
I know releases by AOTY users can be glazed on here but this album does deserve it's flowers
Okay, now this is my first album released in 2026 and I'm so happy to set the mood with an album like this! zig's description of it is simple. Imagine an ethereal fountain in the dead of the cold night as blue stars smile upon you. This is the world that Mihal takes you to in Tales of Afterglow, but these songs aren't just songs. I ... read more

Robyn - Sexistential / Talk to Me

Talk to me is okay. I like how frutiger aero it sounds with the synth stabs in the post chorus and the build up to the second chorus. It's cute but it could be better. If she leans more into some of the directions she briefly explored on here, I think this album will be pretty good
Sexistential is horrifyingly crass though. I hear everyone calling it campy but I guess I'm not gay enough to get the campiness from it. It sounds like she's reading the lyrics off a script and the ... read more

Didn't love it as much as I thought I would but definitely surprised me
Personally, I LOVE industrial, noisy albums and this album is probably a must hear in this type of style. I mean, you can't talk with another industrial fan without Death Grips being brought up!
So, The Money Store is definitely NOT one thing: Boring
This album changes every few seconds keeping you on the edge of your seat. There's always something going on, and better yet, always something interesting going ... read more

Boring. Yawning. Sloppy... LAZY!!
Seriously, it is a MIRACLE this album is in green here, and a blessing from the man upstairs to receive a Critic Must hear because this is so boring. There's absolutely nothing that jumps out at you, the singer sounds tired and the lyrics are... Jesus...
Let's start with the instrumentals. Admittedly, this album offers some fun pop rock moments but it's so horribly inconsistent with these moments that a good song can melt into a nothingburger ... read more

How it feels to have alcohol poisoning: The album
Before I talk about this dumpster fire, lemme rant about another song for a second: Vore - Sleep Token
In case you haven't read my TMBTE review, I named Vore as one of my least favourite songs despite the praise around it. One of the reasons I hated this song was the forced, gurgle-like screaming that plagues the breakdowns. I like Sleep Token's screams but Vore wasn't it. It sounded like Vessel was constipated and tried to shit ... read more

The cover sounds exactly like the album
As much as I love how this album unfolded, I'm a bit disappointed with a few songs here. Like this could've been a 7 track EP and it would've been WAY better. Don't get me wrong, this album is very enjoyable and it captures the feeling of 'Digital Ruckus' perfectly. There are just some songs on here that play it way too safe. Like it has the avant-garde noisy synths, textures and stabs but it compresses them into predictable ... read more

Huh…
So this Poppy album doesn’t have a whole lot going for it, huh?
To be honest, I hate giving this a mid score, purely because this could’ve been her first LP Must Hear but, in all seriousness, this is sooo basic. It feels like it’s the same song every 2 songs. vital sounds like the cost of giving up, the center’s falling out sounds like they’re all around us and new way out sounds like nothing. It’s so derivative of itself it doesn’t try to ... read more

What an experience
So... This is an album I had to pause and take a break from in the middle of it due to a migraine forming. Was it because it was bad? No. Not at all. This album is interesting in the way that it conveys it's message. Take it at face value, it'll be the worst album ever. Take it from an abstract perspective, and the album truly shines. It is an album designed for screaming, and it does it's job well! It's abrasive, painful and discomforting to listen to, ... read more

Is it bad that I think this is worse than Arcadia?
Like there are some REAL heavy hitters on this album like The Summoning, Aqua Regia, Ascensionism and The Apparition (why are the latter 3 in yellow??) but you also get garbage like DYWTYLM and (dont hate me for this) Vore. I'd say this is a lot less consistent than Arcadia due to the fact that the highs hit higher than Arcadia, but the lows are... horrifyingly more bad than Arcadia. I should explain myself with a few songs. Vore is... It ... read more

Controversial take: It isnt THAT bad
Okay, before I get flamed at the stake for confessing my love for this album, allow me to explain. I am NOT a metalhead in any way, shape or form and I just listen to whatever sounds good or looks cool. This was the case with this album. I mean, from the cover alone I knew I was in for an experience. And... It didnt hit at first listen... Or second... But the third listen is where it all came together! I should just say that Look to Windward is a PHENOMONAL ... read more
