Rogue Wave - Out of the Shadow
78

Debut album, Out of the Shadow, by under appreciated idnie pop / rock group Rogue Wave and although many would put them in the same vein of The Shins, wish is true, the band manage to make their sound their own and with great songs such as the chaotic Endless Shovel and the fantastic opener of Every Moment, Out of the Shadow has a lot to offer for fans of the genre.

The Notwist - Vertigo Days
68

The Notwist's latest album, Vertigo Days, is a good Neo-Psychedelia indietronica album which never left me blown away but manages to be engaging and exciting enough to be enjoyable and has many interesting ideas flowing throughout but the band can never capitalized on them and often leaves the record feeling directionless and at times meaningless. However, the cute and warm atmosphere is too lush to ignore leaving the record in a state where it is good but not necessary memorable

Matthew Sweet - 100% Fun
75

A solid and strong collection of power pop tracks by Matthew Sweet and although many don't stick with my as much as other acts such as Teenage Fanclub, there are many highlights in this record such as Sick of Myself and with some good guitar work. the main issue is that the record becomes ultimately too safe with it's sound and thus becomes less memorable. Overall, 100% Fun is what it says on the tin a fun, catchy record which may not do anything exciting but is nonetheless ... read more

From one of the most underappreciated dream pop bands from the 90's, Ardor by Love Spirals Down is one of most soothing and ethereal experience from the 90's creating such a sombre atmosphere beautifully and although it isn't quite as memorable as the likes of Slowdive it is a must listen for fans of that band.

Arguably the king of ECM Style Jazz with one of his most beloved album and it is very good, a lovely mix of chaos and structure from the pianist to create a warm and inviting atmosphere which sometimes makes for some breath taking and complex tracks whilst having an easy sound to easily digest.

Judas Priest - Stained Class
86

Easily one of if not their best album from the 70's, Stained Class, is a classic within the the 70's metal scene with its more darker approach but yet keeping that energetic and rebellious attitude works so well. Alongside Rob's amazing vocal performance and countless catchy and memorable songs to the beloved Beyond the Realms of Death, to the fast paced Excited to deeper cuts like Invader, Stained Class is a well rounded and well executed album

An essential indietronica / art pop record from the 2000's which contains Imogen Heap's most iconic song Hide and Seek, however the rest of the album offers ethereal melodic electronic driven pop which is both warming and catchy and was a huge influence on the whole music scene .

Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
80

A great project by Ghostface Killah containing some of his most well known bangers outside of Wu-Tang Clan and the production and beats on this album are insane, with works from MF DOOM and J Dilla it is a safe bet the production is insane but with 24 tracks and way to many interludes and skits just bog the whole experience making it more sluggish than it needs to be.

After the disappointing but yet good self titled record, it's great to see that their follow up, Saturday Night Wrist fixes all the issues with their previous release, containing a more cohesive sound and a more passionate sound, with the post-metal shoegaze influence taking a slight step back and more used to create a nocturnal atmosphere, Staurday Night Wrist is a more thought out album and it pays off for a better experience

Deftones - Deftones
72

Yes, this album is a step down from the white pony, with Deftones ultimately playing it too safe, with the post-hardcore and shoegaze influence feeling quite mismatched at times and it comes off that the self titled album is disjointed, un-cohesive and has no real structure to it all. Now, the instrumentals are still great, vocal performance is still as impressive as even but it feels more of a sluggish listen than their previous 2 release but still has highlights and is still an enjoyable ... read more

Deftones - Adrenaline
70

Deftones' debut, Adrenaline, is a straightforward but well excuted NU Metal record, with memorable riffs and Chino's vocal performance immediately setting them apart and although out of their 90's releases, Adrenaline hasn't aged the best and arguably stick stuck with its NU metal culture with some of the band's weakest song writing and with not the best mixing does hinder the overall experience the energy is on point.

Obscure Grindcore act, Fuck the Facts, with Die Miserable is everything one could hope from Grindcore, it's angry even nihilistic and brutal and slams your face in the ground at every opportunity, alongside it brutal growls and screams, Fuck the Facts don't even give you space to breath and although it's not as memorable as Terrifyer or Nails discography especially as soon as you get to side B, it must be checked out if you enjoy them.

Not, the strongest project by the blackened death metal band Esoctrilihum, but it is nevertheless still a brutal and dark release and offers that same complexity which many adore the band for and although this album doesn't stick with me as much it is still an enjoyable modern death metal album.

On Katie Pruitt - Expectations
"I find the vocal melodies easily the strongest point of the album and the lyrics are not subtle but i think it works well within the album favor because it not really a subtl record itself in my opinion. From what i remember i found the instrumentals and production rather boring and the overall sound of the album to be dull which meant that the lyrics and the album as a whole didn't really connect with me. I haven't listen to it in a while but i can't remember much about it expect Out Of The Blue that has grow on me a bit."

On The Who - Tommy
"I don't just do my track rating by track by track. I do it by if the track adds to the album has an experience. Tommy is a very good record and if i didn't have the track ratings it would still get the same score mainly due the concept itself doesn't add much to the my overall enjoyment of the album. Every track is based on my enjoy-ability whether that be production, lyrics, melodies, instrumentals, transition into other songs, its involved and importance within the album, and whether it has impacted me personally (which at the end of the day it subjective) etc. I have listened to this album plenty of times but most of the time i feel especially with this album i wouldn't add anything new to the conversation. Maybe i just don't fully grasp that concept and therefore can't appreciated as much as other people but at least not everyone is going to agree with music."

"@kareenak yh out of all the K-pop band, BTS is the one with the most freedom but I am taking about the genre as a whole and even Jessica Hyun-ju Ho said they are genuine friends but she even stated that many bands in the genre don't like each other and that is the aspect I am talking about. Also, you are trying to say that just because i have this view point that it is xenophobiac when i stated that I like the band Otoboke beaver, and i also like; Akira Yamaoka, BABYMETAL, Run River North and Yuna, music from the other parts of the world in fact has some great stuff out there which i probably haven't heard i, but i don't like restricting people just because their are musicians "
