A Beautiful mix of catchy artsy pop and experimental glitchy side of Xiu Xiu for one of their more overlooked albums and with some depressing, cynical lyrics filled with self hatred, this record is not only just catchy but thought provoking but with these 2 worlds clashing it can sometimes come across with the listening experience of 2 different experience and emotions clash and sometimes can hinder the overall experience.

World's End Girlfriend release, Dream's End come True, is a beautiful mix of classical, IDM, glitch to stretch the beauty of post-rock to its limits, for some of his most dense and abstract work and at times some of his most beautiful moments are scattered on this LP mainly on the opening track but the last 2 track not really as streamlined or well thoughout as the first 2 but I will state this is his probably the japanese producer most overlooked body of work, i would say at l;east listen to ... read more
Some good US Power metal with at times some amazing riffs and tongue in cheek lines nodding to dungeon and dragons and the vocal is good but nothing spectacular unfortunately the main issue with this album is its runtime and how long it track lasts, with most track last upwards of 6-8 minutes and the whole album being an hour long and nothing truly being standout amazing consistently throughout the album leaves it feeling like a drag to listen to completely and although it's not bad nor boring ... read more
The best way to describe this album is genuinely quite unsettling, it knowns how to build and create a dark surreal atmosphere, how to encapivate you within that sound and how to put you on the edge of your seat, Heresie is not necessary about how catchy and being replayable but how it leaves an impact filled of dread and anxiety on you with its ominous chamber inspired music for some of the darkness music rock in opposition has to offer.

Thundercat's 3rd studio album, is a psychedelic filled neo-soul record filled with many quirky references to "nerdy" topics such as anime, video games for some clever lyricism and with some great soothing and playful production with that sexy bass aswell there for a cohesive well thought out album filled with nothing but jams and bops.

Another great addition to Silver Mt. Zion, the side project by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and although the previous classical inspired post-rock has been replaced for a more center focused on chamber music with long passages of chamber creating such a dark and suspenseful atmosphere alongside the vocal performance creates such a haunting experience but one which on the surface feels uplifting but gives a sense of dread and that feeling is beautiful to experience.

Rolling Blackout Coastal Fever's debut, Hopes Down, is a jangle pop inspired indie rock album, showing a lot of potential with the band with some gleaming and warm production and a catchy soundscape already established, they show they have a lot to offer with tracks such as Talking Straight and Cappuccino City, it is clean that they can do feel good indie rock very well and for an engaging and very good listen.

An improvement on all fronts from their previous release, Riot!, and is personally alongside their self titled album is my favorite era of Para more, with their pop punk angst still apparent but taken in a more mature route with stronger lyrics and vocals and better instrumentals and a tighter track list for a more comprehensive listening experience and with many songs being catchy, upbeat and energetic and memorable, Yes i prefer this Paramore to After Laughter.

One of Okkervil River's better projects, Down the River of Golden Dreams, is a soft spoken, melodic and sung passionate by Will Sheff, for some of the band's most bittersweet lyrics and songs giving it an emotional edge over their other records but the instrumentals aren't necessary as sharp or pack as much as a punch as later projects would have.

The Number Twelves Looks Like You, most well known and one of their most beloved records and for good reason. It is aggressive, technical and full of crazy manic instrumentals that it is both jaw dropping and exciting to listen to and it keeps up its rapid pace throughout each track which are surprising long but have such amazing progression within them to keep you fully engaged for some adrenaline inducing chaos.

Although this is an impressive Matmos record and has some amazing moments of Folktronica especially the track, For The Trees, being one of the most majestic and beautifully tracks to be constructed by Matmos, that for me it a shame the rest of the album doesn't always live to the same standard as that track but for its 45 minutes runtime it is some lovely complex and warming music.

The Kills' 4th studio album follows their blues driven garage rock revival which is in line with the likes of The White Stripes but often comes across stipped back especially the deeper cuts on the record but the more well known songs on this album do leave an impact for some good indie rock such as DNA, Heart Is A Beating Drum and Future Starts Slow but by the end of the record if feels too slow and sluggish.

Another solid released by the US Power Metal band containing one of their most epic and breathtaking songs, Dante's INferno, a 16 minute epic with some of their best guitar and drumming, and for a consisten and cohesive listen, Burnt Offerings stands as one of their best album but for me it's not as good as their previous record but the more introspective and fantasy filled lyrics brings a level of quality that can't be dismissed.

After the amazing explosion which was their debut, the hype surrounding Franz Ferdinand's sophomore album was unreal, and well they follow up with You Could Have It So Much Better and following the same Post-Punk Revival sound keeping up with their fun and electric sound for good effect and although this album stretches itself a bit more thin and less tracks stand out, it is still a fun and catchy album and the nostalgia of this album grewing up in the UK is unreal.

Arguably quite an overlooked album by Elton John, namely due to the 2 leading singles being so prevalent in his discography, the rest of the album gets overshadowed by them but what it contains is some passionate and catchy piano rock which might not stand toe to toe with his better albums but holds it own for an hour long album of very good music.
