Hanoi Rocks' 3rd studio album, Back to Mystery City, sees them continue their glam rock / hair metal sound and with this release i even find myself really enjoying the songs are finding them just okay and that imbalance makes me never really return to this album as a whole, it has highlights and definitely check them out for fans of this genre because they don't get as much attention as other well known acts and songs like Back to Mystery City and Mental Beats are bops

The Gaslight Anthem most beloved and recognizable album and although they may not add anything new to the music scene taking huge inspiration from a certain famous Heartland Rock artist and incorporating it within the 2000's indie punk rock sound makes for a catchy and upbeat album but with many introspective lyrics makes it have some edge over its contemporaries

Future of the Left's debut, Curses, is a great opening for the Post-Hardcore band with many bangers such as Manchasm, The Lord Hates a Coward and even at 14 tracks a consistent track listing for both an energtic and satrical listen filled with many amazing and quotable lines and a sense of raw fun is so present within the runtime.

For me easily Emeralds at their best. Allegory of Allergies is a beautifully subtle drone record one which can quickly build such an immersive and mysetious atmosphere which pulls you completely in. At nearly 2 hours, the record is so dense and offers so much for album that slowly drifts you in a nocturnal world where time simply doesn't exist.

The Neofolk / post-industrial masterclass Death in June with their 7th studio album and one before their most well known and beloved record, The Wall of Sacrtifice. Much like the name implies this record is dark depressive, from the 16 minute opening track which beautifully sets the mood to the beloved track of Fall Apart, The Wall of Sacrifice is designed to be omnious and give you anxiety and with strong themes of war and those who sacrifice themselves, Death in June creates one of their ... read more
An Ambient Trance classic in my eyes with some amazing build up for a soothing and warm atmosphere and with songs like Offshore, Early and Lost You Somewhere, there is a lot of great engaging moments especially within the first 4 tracks having the best progressive showcased by Chicane, Far From the Maddening Crowds is Trance paradise

A classic within the Lo-Fi Twee pop genre and easily Beast Happening at their best with their most matured sound and song writing. You Turn Me On, is a warm lush melancholic record filled with many of the band's best songs such as Godsend and Tiger Trap for ultimately an outstanding collection of 90's pop

Another fantastic record by Alex G, and one of my personal favorites by him. With its lo-fi aesthetics creating a cryptic but melodic album filled with strong lyricism and easily a standout album which emodies every bedroom pop and the lo-fi has to offer.

A solid strong IDM record by Ital Tek with some great moments which truly build a futuristic ethereal atmosphere whilst having a nice creeping darkness behind it all and although i wish the whole album was consistent it isn't and often many songs aren't memorable and fail to captivate me as much as others.

This album is mostly boring with some bad tracks in the mix such as the opening dictator and really is just a shadow of what the band once was. Their no real energy, everything been toned down to the point of boredom. The incoporation of synth was used poorly and most fans of The Clash just pretend this doesn't exist and i don't necessary blame them

Is this album too long? Yes, especially for one sitting? Is it bad? Nope not in the slightest. Sandinista! sees The Clash drop their established punk rock sound for the developing New Wave sound with elements of Reggae, funk, Dance Punk for nearly 2 and a half hours of music and although not every song here is amazing most of them are enjoyable to some extent and although it can be sluggish of a listen and it doesn't have that memorability of London Calling, The Clash show they have a lot of ... read more
Xenia Rubinos 3rd studio album, Una Rosa, and with her previous 2 attempts really impressing me, I was excited going into this album, seeing her shift s sound into a more electronic driven glitchy sound peaked my interest alongside strong ties with latin style makes for an interesting soundscape and it works for an abstract almost underwater feeling throughout the album but sadly although i love her vocal work on her previous albums i find it the weakest part of this album and them seems quite ... read more
Little Simz's debut, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, is clear from the get go, what Little Simz wanted form a style and her message but yet she hasn't necessary completely found it but she manages to create an engaging, powerful record which is for a debut LP tight and very cohesive even if the last 2 songs don't stick in my mind as much, this is very impressive and show her clear direction to the sound which she later would accomplish.

Mezzanine stands as a Trip Hop classic for good reason, it takes the trip hop sound and puts elements of post-industrial and dub to make such a dark mysterious album which sole purpose is to build atmosphere and put you simply on edge and it does it effectively and although i do enjoy Portishead more especially Dummy, I can't deny how effective this album is and how influential it is, the album is the embodiment of anxiety

Honestly, dont know why this album has such a low user rating, this album although not as great as their other albums, still stands as one of the best Yes albums, with it more upbeat opening self titled track to the epic ending of Awaken, Going for the One might be a more straight forward listen compared to Fragile or Close to the Edge but it is still filled with amazing dense progressive rock and enagging complex compositions for an entertaining listen.

Watain's debut is a solid entry for the band and their black metal sound and although this record has at its core, a lot which i love about black metal within how raw and angry it is. Sadly, Rabid Death's Curse doesn't stick with much as much as other black metal record or even later Watain projects. It does have strong riffs and great ideas but doesn't quite stick the landing and stand out from the rest.

Honestly, a pretty solid death metal record but a band that gets a bit over shadowed. In terms of sound, Dawn of the Apocalypse feels still more like old school death metal, containing some brutal vocals with some more melodic parts to slow the listeners down from the constant onslaught and although this isn't my favorite by the band and it isn't as amazing as the band Death, I would recommend it to any 1990's death metal lovers.

Ulver, a band notoriously famous for changing their sound so much, a band that started as black metal to experimental electronic to synthpop with Flowers of Evil although not a new style for them with their previous album being synthpop driven, Flowers of Evil sounds like it came right out of the 80's era, with its clear influences to bands like Depeche Mode, it doesn't necessary delve into new areas nor feel as exciting as some of their previous albums and I enjoy most of the songs here they ... read more
An ambition fusion of progressive metal, black metal and electronic for what Thy Catafalque is know for, Avant-Garde metal journey both dense and complex and offers some of the most interesting soundscape 2010's metal has to provide especially within the first 2 main tracks, I personally don't understand the Zugo intro and outro and although it does fall a bit apart by the second half with the electronic aspect taking a bit of a backseat for the black metal fusion. However, Sgurr is an excite ... read more
SeeYouSpaceCowboy's sophomore album see the band going in the right direction, enough this album doesn't necessary push the genre of metalcore to new areas we haven't see, incorporating elements of math rock, post-rock, emo and post-hardcore, and some interesting features but what makes this album stick out is the raw passion that is on display creating such a chaotic atmosphere which one can only describe as a manic episode portrayed in music and that is what makes this enjoyable
