This is actually my first ambient piece to ever listen to, so I appreciate @kron6733 for giving me a chance to listen to it for the first time. I thought that what was put here is pretty decent, and it's a very calming and soothing album. I do think that it was a tad bit repetitive. I think tracks like Your Dark Thoughts Came Back, should be sprinkled around rather than be the basis for a whole album, but that's just my opinion. The bass always hit hard, and delivered with the vibe ... read more
I've noticed that I've been going down this rabbit hole of listening to what are known as some of the best of all time, and I've been loving it. But to be honest, I think this easily has had the biggest impact on me so far. I actually woke up and now I feel the urge to listen to new music again! Thanks System of a Down!
But no seriously, this is easily in my top 5 now because WHAT IS THIS?! AND WHERE HAS IT BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! Toxicity, is the most dirty, unclean, disgusting, ... read more
MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD
This is honestly the most hyped I have ever felt for something like ever. Like, I could feel it coming. I KNEW this was going to happen sometime this month. And IT DID! In the middle of the day for some reason, but none the less, I am so giddy to talk about this album, and I gotta say what's on my mind after a first listen.
This is the most fun I've had with a Kendrick album ever, and I think ... read more
Ok the cover is cool and all, but do people acknowledge that weird red spot near his arm? It's making me lose it.
After Rodeo, Travis had become widely known and accepted among many. I guess he was already feeling experimental with this one. Sadly, I feel that Birds In The Trap feels conflicted with itself and really confused in terms of sound. Especially after Rodeo, this album left a lot to be desired. And it sucks, because there feels like something special could be here, but ... read more
Love Deluxe is a truly heartfelt package. This is probably the first time I've listened to a full on Soul album, and definitely a Sophisti-Pop album. Before that I didn't even know what that was. It's funny too because I've always loved Jazz with the Sax, the smooth guitar, and those crispy vocals that accompany everything. It makes for a very relaxing experience. I don't think I've ever had that interest to actually dive into any of the genres though. Not until ... read more
The underground world for music has always sprout great and amazing things, and Nirvana is definitely one of them. There's a weird sense of irony as they clearly had a distain for the mainstream, and popularity, yet they've become one of the most iconic bands in history, and this album is probably one of the most well known works in music history, period. At least in the US. When it came out, Nevermind changed the scene, and influenced so much for the future. There's a reason to ... read more
Still crazy to think that a teenager makes this stuff, and is on a whole label. That is some crazy dedication, talent, and passion.
Last time I listened to Turquoisedeath, I ascended. Se Bueno was so impressive to me and means a lot to me as it was the first album I even listened to, thanks to AOTY, and the first I rated. And it scratched every itch I had on a Wednesday night. I'm glad I finally gave the time to listen to their next album, Kaleidoscope, because it's just as, if not ... read more
Finally, a Monday with some meaning
Now I'm not exactly a huge fan of Tyler, but even I was really excited to get to listen to this. It's a perfect excuse to finally actually listen to more of his discography. And it didn't disappoint one bit. Chromakopia feels like a huge passion project that had tons of work put into it.
This is a pretty deep one to sit through, and it feels very personal. The story for this album was actually gripping, and I was always curious to see where ... read more
Love is probably one of, if not the most important feeling in our minds. Love causes a drive, and makes a relationship for several emotions and feelings. Passion, sadness, and of course joy, just to name a few. Unfortunately, sadness is one that comes from losing that love, and that's exactly what Bjork goes through in this gripping tale.
When working on her next project, Bjork had gone through a tragic break up with her husband who she had been with for over a decade. She didn't ... read more
I don't know why everybody's hating. The song title itself tells you the quality of it. He really was in the thick of it. (By the way, HOW DO YOU MISPELL LYRICS IN A LYRIC VIDEO?!?!)
Today's lesson is about Biophilia. Biophilia is the ability to have a natural connection to nature and living things around the world. But it also means to have the best Bjork album ever. Yeah that's right I said it. This is perfect, and you can't change my mind on it one bit.
Ok but seriously. Was this made for me? The theme of nature, coming in with all of these themes surrounding love and passion. It's perfect. Ok not perfect, I mean if anything, Vespertine and Homogenic ... read more
So Volta, coming off the user score, is definitely seen as a black sheep in Bjork's discography compared to everything else. I was definitely skeptical coming into this for that, and the idea that I could potentially like it way more than the general consensus on it, and question humanity's taste. I came out in the middle. I think? But yeah, this is probably my least favorite project from her so far. I do have a lot to like and even love with it though.
Bjork, after making Medulla, ... read more
This has been in the backlog for far too long. So I'm finally fixing that along with(Hopefully) the rest of the queen's discography.
So after the majestic Vespertine album, Bjork made a decision to herself. She got bored with instruments and instead wanted to freshen things up, and made a whole acapella album! I have never heard vocals up to this scale. Let alone for an entire album. So when I looked it up, and realized what this was all about, I grew a lot more of respect for the ... read more
I GOT THE POWERS THAT BE🔥🔥🔥
This band is one of the most funniest things I could ever listen to. And I say that's because this is such an acquired taste. I am never going to put this on the aux in front of people. I don't even know if I would listen to Death Grips while driving or something. They're music is so "dirty" feeling, and I mean that in the best way possible. Even if I'm not crazy for them, their style has always gravitated towards me just ... read more
Alright, Imagine this. A world where people try to take over just to exert their power on others. One where people try to follow this strict code, believing that it's the only way to life. Being bitter, tired, exhausted everyday just to live, while others are way ahead of you. Wait a minute. That's just real life!
It's no surprise that for as many good qualities that can come in our lives, there are also a lot of bad ones. And it feels as if those problems just keep on rising, ... read more
It's times like this where I realize how good this site is for finding good music, because without AOTY, I probably would never come across this.
Now, I think it should be known, that House music, is probably one of my favorite genres ever. It is so warm and comfortable, but at the same time has such a fiery spark that just lets you be free. There are so many beats that you can come up with and it's very flexible for sampling AND lyrics. I've always loved the sound of it, and ... read more
Honestly, this is a great return to form from this band. Something about this album for me felt familiar with the tone, and sound of older songs from Deftones. It feels like a jack of all trades considering that it feels like it covers everything. Of course, those all-around types aren't crazy good at everything, because I do feel like all of the other albums, even Gore, have something I prefer in them over this album. That doesn't mean though that the way these songs were crafted was ... read more
So that was definitely an experience I had listening to this. It's weird because, I don't know how to feel right now about this album, but I think I have an idea right now.
Gore, is something, that I've known for a while now, to be looked at by people as "The stinker", and I am just going to say it right now. This is nowhere near as bad as some people might act like it is. Moreso, for me at least, it's just disappointing. With a title like "Gore" from a ... read more
Everyone be saying that owl is cute but I don't know... creeps me out a little.
I don't know if this is a hot take. But between all of the albums from Deftones, that I've listened to so far. This is my least favorite. Now, of course, that doesn't mean I think it's bad or anything, of course not. I mean you see my rating don't you? I just think I like the takes on their sound in the other albums a little more, but this is still really good.
This is the first ... read more
I just realized that outside of this, and maybe a couple of songs. I have never listened to Jazz all that much. Which is weird because I can tell that I do enjoy it a lot. But hey better late than never I guess. Really, though, It took me like 4 whole months to get to this project knowing I was gonna like it. I mean this cover alone looks great. There's an abstract-like feel to it. It's calm but also kind of chaotic, thanks to that background and the kid running around. I mean you can ... read more
