When this album is on it, it is a brilliant, heartfelt pop rock album. It lacks consistency to make it truly amazing, but there is so much talent here you can't ignore it and now love it a little bit.
At times crushing, haunting, and always wrapped in a perfect trance like package. Deftones are about the best band for making this particular dreamy vein of metal, and this is them at their best. A brilliant starting point imo and just so much enjoyment to be had.
I still need to fully revisit and give Gore a proper shake, but this is exactly what I want in a Deftones album and compliments Koi No Yokan perfectly. The airy and dreamy quality to the album makes me dissociate in the best way, taking me out of my body and taking me to a higher place, almost a high in the form of music.
you can't follow up an album as good as The Spark, but this was a good effort none the less
A nice and solid return to form that actually does experimentation with the Stokes formula well
holy FUCK does this still rock my shit every time I hear it, absolutely stunning
This is the album that has probably the most replay value in Metallica's entire discography. A must listen even for those who are not normally fans of metal.
This is by far my favorite Maiden album, which is pretty impressive given how much I love their 80's work.
This legit just sounds like musical candy, it's so polished and played really well. Overall, just a really fun time of an album.
Very rough and unpolished, but holy fuck does The Answer carry this EP. It's probably one of their best songs and it's a shame it never got on an album.
I used to adore this album, then I thought it was just okay, now I realize it's barely even passes any sort of basic enjoyment.
I remember when I was so cool and edgy when I was jamming out to this when it first came out. Now I realize that it's just really, really okay. I was a complete wannabe edgelord who, looking back on it, deep down was just sad and gay.
This is just fun. Has really solid production and Gravy's flow is just fun and infectious.
Juice delivered on some tracks and really showed potential, shame he never got to act on it...
RIP Juice
I swear if there is one more review calling this groovy, I'm gonna put my head through a wall.
Disappointing, but still really solid. HANL has probably some of the highest expectations out of any band out there, so it's not surprising this didn't live up to the hype.
