Rich the Kid had the best performance of the 3, which just goes to show how washed ye and ty are. The production was not bad
Overall an improvement on Love Sick, some really cool tracks on here, but can’t say that this album is consistent, a fair amount of filler
Words can’t describe how eclectic and overbearing this album is. Truly remarkable how much anguish was put into this record while simultaneously keeping a creative and intense musicality to it. Thanks brad for the rec
Despite this being her debut, Tems has been in the industry for a minute now, having her name associated with some major projects such as CLB and I Never Liked You and Renaissance, as well as the second Black Panther soundtrack. She has also worked with Tyla, Wizkid, as well as a bunch of other Afrobeat artists. Now it is her taking the full spotlight with this album and vocally she truly shines and the beats themselves help to create an atmosphere solo to Tems as she made sure to be select ... read more
I can appreciate how raw and unfiltered the music on this ep is, even if it can feel a bit too much at points. I love how vulnerable sounding sam is and the emotions expressed are palpable. I’ve been loosely keeping up with her Twitter account and this ep certainly reflects the current emotions I image her feeling. Hope my contribution helps even a little bit
I will revisit this album later with a better review for it, but I can say that I’m in love with pretty much every song on this album
Nothing about this album reads specific to Shaboozey, just generic modern country cliches, looking for a hit. After finding out about him through “Cowboy Carter” by Beyonce, I figured this album would be interesting, but it lacks personality and depth, something that Cowboy Carter strived in.
After a revisit, I consider this album to be pretty fun for the most part. Just strong vibes
Something clicked for the band with the release of Jane Doe; on its follow up the band continues to crush the audience with harsh abrasive noise.
I do love the production of this album, I just do find some songs too short and the interlude/skit moments to take a bit away from the overall experience. Still a solid effort though, am excited to see this group grow.
Drummer for Ekko Astral, Miri Tyler has dropped her own solo album. Which is quite different from what Ekko Astral does.
Miri goes in a more singer-songwriter lane here, quite stripped back instrumentally, but offers a lot vocally. She has a pretty good voice and offers some great introspective lyrics. Definitely an album worth checking out.
I’ve been waiting has an odd Phil Collins interpolation, definitely feels a bit out of place.
I’ve been avoiding this album for a minute now, I really just don’t understand the hype. In a genre dominated by driving loud 808s, how can this album simply be void of that, nevermind the beats overall sounding cheap and poorly mixed. Genuinely terrible, no rhythm
