These damn guitars and choirs are fantastic all the way through this album. In fact the production is pretty great through out. The last 3 songs have a nice story running though them, and the album overall has a mostly anxious theme going. The vocals get pretty raw and dirty sometimes beautiful and grand, great range. I think some songs can sometimes be a mess. California, Stand Tall, the ending of Me and Your Mama, and even some of Zombies get lost in weird ideas, and I wish 'Riot' could have ... read more

Growing on me as my favorite single hes released this year. Those drums. THOSE DRUMS THOUGH. The vocals seem a bit too spacey, but it goes well with what he's doing with the verses. The song picks up when these bombastic overblown drums come busting in and just take over the song. And the distorted Kill Bill like siren just make me flip my shit. Very good.

One of the most immersive albums I have ever listened to. The sounds of this album are extremely ahead of it's time, while still having sounds of old jazz and rock keeping it somewhat grounded. The lyrics are at time soul crushingly sad, as well some beautiful lines that stick with you after the album is over. Isolation and depression cover every inch of this album (except Optimistic, which is probably my least favorite). This is only off of my first listen, so this album has plenty of time to ... read more
