Extremely unique, fun, and lovely vocals (San Francisco, WATTCAOPAM). Strange lyrical and instrumental undertone (On Blue Mountain, In The Darkness). Switch ups multiple times in the same song (Shuggie, WATTCAOPAM), but still holding central ideas of religion and love. This album has ethereal highs (the end of 'Oh No') and depressing lows (On Blue Mountain). Maybe some songs are a bit short, the album is a brisk 36 minutes, and some songs kinda tread the same water as other tunes, but that is ... read more

Really nice effects on some song, with nice lyrics about love and family. Some songs are high 8s or 9s out of 10's (Malibu, You Shadow). Good crunchy drums, and extremely 80's synths and guitars. Some songs do feel a bit empty, and I feel like they could have maybe been expanded upon, but that about it for the negatives. Overall, pretty dreamy and nice synthpop.

Really beautiful and gorgeous. Very warm, cozy, calm, and nice. There is something nostalgic about this song, maybe the piano, or the acoustic twangy guitars, I can't quite put my finger on it. Them taking lyrics from one of the songs they used before is kinda annoying, and the song does have some generic qualities to it, but overall I'd say give this one a listen.

The drums on these songs make me cum, the vocals and instruments are beautiful, and the lyrics are intriguing.

I thought that I couldn't get into this album, because I don't listen to noise rock and metal, but I really enjoyed this.

Just awful. The only saving grace of this song is the bass line, but everything else is extremely generic indie pop.

Dang this is underrated. Like there are some extreme BOPS on this album (Everything You've Ever Learned, Ice Station Zebra). The cool down moments even are pretty nice, and a good change of pace (Abulia and Akrasia, Ezmerelda Steals The Show). There are even extremely funky moments (Get In The Mind Shaft, Corporation). Over all; why you all sleeping on this album?

Im torn on this album. There's generic pop songs (TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME, I Like America & America Likes Me), then really nice ballads (I Always Wanna Die [Sometimes], I Couldn't Be More In Love). Boring lyrics (It's Not Living [If It's Not With You], I Couldn't Be More In Love), and then pretty memorable lines (How To Draw / Petrichor). I mean the message is pretty good, and there are some admittedly some good songs, but some tunes do rub me the wrong way.

This album is just so fun (NUDE BEACH A GO-GO), hilarious (SEXUAL ATHLETICS, BLACK BALLERINA), weird (DINOSAUR CAREBEAR), and sometimes sad (PICTURE ME GONE). What ties all these song together though is It sound like there were dug out of the deepest pits of the 80's and 70's. This album also holds some of the best songs that I heard come out in 2014. One flaw with this album though is that some songs forget to be songs, and they become satirical or funny skit; which isn't very replay-able. ... read more

Kinda a let down after the great album Multi-Love, cause almost all the songs sound the same. Lo-fi, high pitch kind sad vocals, cool guitar lick that gets boring after a little bit, and lyrics about the modern age. But this album does have the song honeybee so thats a plus. I mean overall I enjoyed the album, but I won't remember it by next year.

As a first time CSH listener some things might have flew over my head, but thank god for my friends telling me about how the other albums connect with this one. That just make this album incredible. The lyrics are the best thing about this, they are so extremely smart, funny, emotional and satirical. The story that runs through this album is beautiful, and (by what my friends have said), ties in perfectly with the other album. One thing I will knock this album for though is some songs don't ... read more

Kevin Parker decides to ditch the old sound, and go for a more smooth (New Person Same Old Mistake), soft ('Cause I'm A Man), dreamy (Love/Paranoia), and sometimes hectic (EVENTUALLY) sound. While this might have some of my favorite Tame Impala songs, it also contains some bland and forgettable ones. But this still has Kevin signature 'every inch of this record must be perfect' mentality.

So much detail, care, passion, and distortion makes this album an absolute bop. But the instrumentation isn't the only thing this album has going for it, because Kevin Parkers vocals are heavenly ('She Just Won't Believe Me', and 'NTHHSFHBAWCC'), and emotional (Keep On Lying, Sun's Coming Up). Also everyone inch of this album seem's to have been combed through and perfected to Kevin's own taste for years. That is why this is my favorite Tame Impala album. Unique enough to stand on it's own and ... read more

Every single one of these songs is pack to the brim with wild effects, crazy vocals, catchy hooks, and cute lyrics. Also the impact and creativity of this album has sent ripples through the psych-pop genre. One fault I find with this album though is sometime the song repeat a wee bit too much with out having a reason to.

An ok and some times great debut, but too many bland pop songs (you know which ones I'm talking about), and also sometime just bad vocal performances. Like usual the production is pretty good/great with some great writing behind them. Not a bad album at.

UMO's best album. Crisp and compressed to make to drums and vocals pop, with a pretty cool story behind it. Maybe some song go on a bit to long, but they still are enjoyable.
