The 1975 - A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships

Im torn on this album. There's generic pop songs (TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME, I Like America & America Likes Me), then really nice ballads (I Always Wanna Die [Sometimes], I Couldn't Be More In Love). Boring lyrics (It's Not Living [If It's Not With You], I Couldn't Be More In Love), and then pretty memorable lines (How To Draw / Petrichor). I mean the message is pretty good, and there are some admittedly some good songs, but some tunes do rub me the wrong way.

Ariel Pink - pom pom

This album is just so fun (NUDE BEACH A GO-GO), hilarious (SEXUAL ATHLETICS, BLACK BALLERINA), weird (DINOSAUR CAREBEAR), and sometimes sad (PICTURE ME GONE). What ties all these song together though is It sound like there were dug out of the deepest pits of the 80's and 70's. This album also holds some of the best songs that I heard come out in 2014. One flaw with this album though is that some songs forget to be songs, and they become satirical or funny skit; which isn't very replay-able. ... read more

Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Sex & Food

Kinda a let down after the great album Multi-Love, cause almost all the songs sound the same. Lo-fi, high pitch kind sad vocals, cool guitar lick that gets boring after a little bit, and lyrics about the modern age. But this album does have the song honeybee so thats a plus. I mean overall I enjoyed the album, but I won't remember it by next year.

As a first time CSH listener some things might have flew over my head, but thank god for my friends telling me about how the other albums connect with this one. That just make this album incredible. The lyrics are the best thing about this, they are so extremely smart, funny, emotional and satirical. The story that runs through this album is beautiful and ties in perfectly with the other album. One thing I will knock this album for though is some songs don't have that much replay-ability, and ... read more

Tame Impala - Currents

Kevin Parker decides to ditch the old sound, and go for a more smooth (New Person Same Old Mistake), soft ('Cause I'm A Man), dreamy (Love/Paranoia), and sometimes hectic (EVENTUALLY) sound. While this might have some of my favorite Tame Impala songs, it also contains some bland and forgettable ones. But this still has Kevin signature 'every inch of this record must be perfect' mentality.

Tame Impala - Lonerism

So much detail, care, passion, and distortion makes this album an absolute bop. But the instrumentation isn't the only thing this album has going for it, because Kevin Parkers vocals are heavenly ('She Just Won't Believe Me', and 'NTHHSFHBAWCC'), and emotional (Keep On Lying, Sun's Coming Up). Also everyone inch of this album seem's to have been combed through and perfected to Kevin's own taste for years. That is why this is my favorite Tame Impala album. Unique enough to stand on it's own and ... read more

Every single one of these songs is pack to the brim with wild effects, crazy vocals, catchy hooks, and cute lyrics. Also the impact and creativity of this album has sent ripples through the psych-pop genre. One fault I find with this album though is sometime the song repeat a wee bit too much with out having a reason to.

UMO's best album. Crisp and compressed to make to drums and vocals pop, with a pretty cool story behind it. Maybe some song go on a bit to long, but they still are enjoyable.

MGMT - MGMT

MGMT uses some dense and chaotic production which makes some really great points, but confusing at others. This album isn't even that weird or hard to understand cause it has some really catchy moments. Like the first half of this album is pretty darn memorable and catchy, and the other half still has it hooky moments.

MGMT - Congratulations
88

As of now, Congratulations is MGMT's best, most important, and defining albums of their career! Very well produced and written psychedelic-pop & rock, and with some of MGMT's best lyrics that sound just great and could 'probably' mean something. Finally, it is a great statement of their career at the time of the creation of this album. It might not seem like I'm hyping up this album, but I do love this album.

MGMT - Little Dark Age

Great synth pop, very well produced and written, and like their other albums talks about their career. The songs that are great are GREAT and even the songs that are ok aren't that bad, but the lack of cohesion kinda knocks it down a couple boxes.
