An amazing achievement in musical history. This album is definately up there with the best of noise rock. The only thing stopping this from being a 10 is that it lost me a little with Western.
Edit: 99 -> 100
Nah its perfect.
Oh god. At least I'm just Ken is good. Highlights are mostly high, the low is very low
Meh. Not a bad debut. Bellyache is an edgy mess. idontwannabeyouanymore and ocean eyes are definately the hightlights here.
Solid improvement over the original. Mixing and production is great, vocals are great, not really anything to complain about. The title track acts as a magnificent finale to the album. Overall, great album. Male Fantasy kinda killed the pacing, but still a great track.
Pretty good, definately enjoy the energy here. Some tracks hit further than others, and it sort of trails off towards the end. Bad Guy suffers from being horrifically overplayed.
I hate the fact this is the most fun music I've ever heard. Take the 90 and be ashamed, babymetal.
Overrated? Yes. Still very good.
EDIT: 80 --> 100
I was so wrong.
A lapse in quality in Merzbow's interesting catalogue... odd this is his most famous.
A Death Grips re-release to remind us that our collective facourite band haven't *officially* broken up.
Well... this was... an album. Pretty damn good though.
Mary Turner Mary Turner was very harsh in it's message; once again Xiu Xiu release a song that mentally destroys me. Similar to Xiu Xiu's 2003 effort 'A Promise', don't listen if you're in a vulnerable mental place.
Favourite Tracks: Girl With Basket Of Fruit, Amargi Ve Moo
Least Favourite Tracks: Ice Cream Truck
Damn... this one hits hard. Only listen to this if your in the right headspace, this album is intense.
(Edit)
It's not often a song makes me cry, but Jamie desperately asking if he loves himself nearly got me at the end of Ian Curtis Wishlist. Overall, the album is a lot more harrowing than I remembered it being. Walnut House is the most painful track to listen to of all time.
Favourite tracks: Ian Curtis Wishlist, Pink City, Sad Pony Guerilla Girl
Least favourite tracks: N/A
Interesting ideas, not fully expanded upon. I enjoy the drums within all the noise.
One of the most boring "hardcore" records I have ever listened to, every track was a slog from beginning to end. At least it feels like some effort was put in.
