There's a really special feeling to this album. It has a very unique sound compared to its predecessors, and that works in its favor. This isn't more of the same from Nas and Hit, but something sonically very different from what we got just 2 months ago. Very introspective album, feels like a project I have to listen to all the way through every time.
An interesting vibe. You get a glance into the early versions of No Pressure and 2020 Ultra 85 mixtape tracks, some of which like Dark Place I like better than the versions we actually got. The new music is pretty good too
This is what I want from pop. There's a clear sense maturity and growth from her first album and I appreciate that she's one of the few pop artists I can listen to without getting annoyed at a lack of depth to the themes and lyrics they give the listener
Some interesting tracks here and there, but mostly boring. I'm not really sure I get the hype around passionfruit, like it's good but over 90/100 good? Also Drake talking about people half-assing their albums is pretty funny. Pretty much all of his albums feel like they have at least a few half-assed tracks.
One of the worst feelings I get when I'm listening to new music is when I have to actually say why to myself out loud. While it's hard to deny that she has a good voice, apparently she doesn't have a good ear for what genre she fits in. To be fair for a moment, I'm not a huge fan of pop-punk to start which doesn't make it easy for this album to appeal to me.
Her first album, more reminiscent of the style of pop that singers like Billie Eilish go for, fits her much better than her mediocre ... read more
Y'know what the production is pretty damn good on this album. Theme might've been interesting for him but he kind of ruins it with his hypocrisy about cheating. Also Happy Ending is one of the worst songs period. Still, at least in my opinion, this feels a lot more polished than his last 2 albums and I think it's his 2nd best.
Definitely worse than his first album, even he admits he half-assed this album lol. There are a few tracks, like Rip your heart out or Hop is back that I think are pretty good, but it doesn't really have the charm his first album did
When I was younger, I was a huge Hopsin fan because he was partly an Eminem clone and I liked offensive lyrics. Now that I'm not a 15 year old I know this isn't great music, but it still makes me nostalgic. One thing I think people should give Hopsin credit for is that his music always seems to at least have a nice flow and sound to it. Still, his weird lyrics and often basic production earns this a pretty low score even if I still kind of find this album charming.
I had heard that 21 Savage now has greatly improved upon his early music, but I didn't know just how much he had improved. ISSA was mediocre and disappointing but this, this was just bad. The whole way through this I was just bored and annoyed at how little there was to digest. It's painfully generic and uninspired. At least other albums in this score range for me have interesting aspects to them and stuff to comment on. This is just straight trash.
Nothing 6ix9ine has made is objectively good, but if you claim this beat is anything less than fire you're just lying. HARD carried by a beat that I can't get out my head, otherwise its a 3.
I was in the mood for some aggressive rap today, so I finally put this one on. It's pretty good, but Waka Flocka songs to me sound like they should be cut about a minute shorter maybe 50% of the time. This has big nostalgic energy, and sounds pretty much exactly what you think a 2010 rap album sounds like, in a good way. I enjoyed this quite a bit but I'm not sure it really deserves more than a mid 7.
This is for the most part a nice group of tracks that I honestly like a fair bit more than some of the stuff that found its way onto the original, but Sorry not sorry is just phenomenal. Probably my favorite Tyler track, maybe tied with running out of time.
This was pretty disappointing after having listened to his newer music first. There wasn't anything here that wowed me, I knew Bank Account but even that track wasn't anything that special. It's not bad but it's pretty boring.
This was definitely different from these two. Logic using autotune comes once in a blue moon and I'm not really sure that he uses it to great effect here. Pretty basic bars, beat, and hook. Just mid.
I'm surprised at the mediocre reviews this gets, as an Eminem fan this has always been a song that makes me feel a little emotional from how much you can hear in his voice how much Dre means to him
It's greater than the sum of its parts. The Message is powerful. Still D.R.E. is an absolutely classic Dre track. Forgot about Dre is probably the best collab between the legendary Em/Dre duo. What's the difference is an all time great Xzibit track. Ackrite is a track I've come to love regardless of Hittman's complete and utter irrelevance. Like I could just keep going on and on, there are a few forgettable tracks and pause 4 porno (why) but this is a project you can't not talk about when ... read more
