I went to my local vinyl store today, I wanted to buy something I had never heard before, I don’t know why, I just wanted to try something new. After looking for a half an hour, I had decided on Mos Def’s “Black on Both Sides”. Though I had heard “Ms. Fat Booty” before, the rest was completely new to me. I don’t think I would have bought this if not for randomly coming across “Ms. Fat Booty” on autoplay a few weeks ago, I immediately ... read more
We’ve come so far from the lemon drop bars 🥹
Seeing a Logic must hear (for now) in 2024 is… surprising. “Paul Rodriguez” is a contender for rap song of the year, the beat switch at the end is a bit unnecessary, and the Kendrick diss tracks are amazing but it’s a serious contender. “Innerstellar” is also great, but I feel like this album could be a bit more consistent. But for LOGIC, this might as well be TPAB.
Logic is known for having a ... read more
APHEX TWIN ALBUM DEEP DIVE #3: Spooky Face
Well this is certainly an interesting project in Aphex Twin’s discography. This is definitely the strangest album from him yet, it has a certain feeling to it that’s hard to describe. “Alberto Balsalm” was amazing, even if it felt a bit out of place. I loved some of the sounds on this album, they are quite different from the ones on selected ambient works 1 and 2, “Ventolin” is absolutely hilarious, it’s ... read more
Alright this is good, but one song is NOT enough to raise an album by 5 points.
Anyways this is my first JID album, and yeah this bangs. I love the mix of all these different styles of hip hop. Listening to this whole album at once is quite an experience just because it includes Surround Sound right before Kody Blu 31. JID’s voice is among some of my favorites in rap, everything he says just comes off so smoothly, he basically just makes it sound easy. “2007” is amazing, the ... read more

APHEX TWIN ALBUM DEEP DIVE #2: Not So Funky Ambience 😢
An insanely good, insanely long piece of art. This is the longest Aphex Twin album, at just over 2 and a half hours long. It’s one of very few albums that took me more than 1 sitting to get through my first listen. That doesn’t take away from this album at all though, this project more heavily leans into the ambience aspect than volume 1, which makes for a more chill and relaxed album. #3 is one of the best pieces of music ... read more
APHEX TWIN ALBUM DEEP DIVE #1: Funky Ambience
This is some of the most memorable and unique house/IDM music I have ever heard, in a sea of boring and repetitive dance hits, there are these. While sometimes repetitive, this is certainly never boring. The amount accomplished in this album is astonishing for just one genre. Every single track sounds completely different, while being the exact same genre for the whole album. It’s insane. This is such a fun album, especially for something ... read more
This cover is like that one mission in rdr2 when you get insanely drunk and everyone looks like lenny
August 3rd probably the craziest day for music since May 3rd
I would like to thank parannoul for cleansing VULTURES 2 out of my ears, and for dropping Album of The Year. Just when I thought Peggy had done it, Parannoul decided to release an absolute masterpiece, and I would probably like it even more if I could understand anything he is saying. Fortunately there is an incredible description on bandcamp in English, so I got a good idea on what this album is going for. I cannot believe this ... read more
“VULTURES 2” is a bit better than the first one imo, mostly because it doesn’t have as much antisemitism, and because it’s shorter. With that being said, this is an absolute atrocity of an album, and I will never even think of listening to this ever again. This production is genuinely horrible, and what makes it even worse is that it’s by Kanye. Speaking of which, Kanye sounds awful on this album. His lyrics are half assed, and he’s obviously not trying.

LIL UGLY MANE ALBUM DEEP DIVE #3: To Be Continued…
Well this is surprising. Lil Ugly Mane switched from horrorcore rap music to psychedelic dream pop. And honestly, this is his best album. It’s crazy how good this is for being such an insane switch in genres, as always the production is on point, and the vocals are amazing and fit perfectly with the album. “Headboard” probably has the best production on any Lil Ugly Mane track, it sounds absolutely beautiful, and the ... read more
LIL UGLY MANE ALBUM DEEP DIVE #2
Oblivion Access is certainly interesting. Lil ugly mane decided to go from hardcore Memphis style rap music to a way darker tone, but hey I’m all here for it. This feels like the warning symbol for lil ugly mane’s discography, reminding people that he can (and will) make WHATEVER he wants, and that includes disturbing stuff so if that’s not for you, leave. “Slugs” is an absolute masterpiece and I’m very surprised it only has ... read more
LIL UGLY MANE ALBUM DEEP DIVE #1: Lugubriousness
Travis Miller AKA Lil Ugly Mane should be a quite recognizable name to some, as he is quite popular in the rap scene. That’s not all he’s know for though, as lil ugly mane has experimented in plenty of genres sometimes even having nothing to do with rap.”Mista Thug Isolation” however, is quite obviously a heavily rap focused project, and it’s safe to say he’s good at it. For a debut lp, the quality is ... read more
“Raise!” Is an album I bet most people have heard a bit in their life, because of let’s groove. Let’s groove is probably my favorite song of all time, it is the musical embodiment of funkiness, happiness, and fun. This whole album is just like that, each track being a small bit of funkiness. The obvious standout is let’s groove, but other tracks such as evolution orange and lady sun deserve much more credit. This is also an incredibly accessible album. Anybody ... read more
Fallout boy for terminally online people
“SMILE! :D” is arguably the most anticipated album of 2024, so even though I don’t care for this artist and especially not this genre, I still wanted to check it out. Even though I’m not a big fan of this genre, the production is absolutely incredible and makes so much more enjoyable. This would probably be like a 2/10 for me if it weren’t for this production. Overall it’s an enjoyable project, but aoty might be a ... read more
“Visions of Bodies Being Burned” is as of now the latest clipping. album, an album that I’ve been interested in reviewing ever since I first heard “Say the Name”, and I’m not disappointed. This album is made up of 16 “horror stories” most of the time meaning a story to uncover in the lyrics, also accompanied by the INCREDIBLE production. The last minute of “Say the Name” is genuinely some of the best production I have ever heard. Same ... read more
SHOCK ME AWAKE, TEAR ME APART 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
“…Like Clockwork” is an album I randomly came across while on aoty, and a few thing intrigued me enough to check it out. 1. Is that this album does not have a single track below a 90 track rating, and 2. Is that album cover. I just love the colors on that album cover, the blue tears blend so well with the red background, and art is so well done. Now the actual music, is fantastic. The track “I Appear Missing” is ... read more
“CARE FOR ME” is an album that’s interested me for some time, mostly because of the track “PROM/KING”. It’s regarded as one of the greatest storytelling Hip Hop songs of all time, so I decided to check out this project. I’m definitely not disappointed, it makes for some pretty chill and laid back Hip Hop, while also being a quite personal project to Saba. “PROM/KING” is obviously fantastic, the storytelling is incredible, and the story ... read more
“BRAT” simply put, does not live up to the (never ending) hype. I can see why people like it, but there are some conditions that make it so I just don’t enjoy it as much. Number 1 is, I just don’t like pop. This is something I have talked about in the past, but pop music is just so boring to me. The other reason are these vocal effects. Some of this autotune is truly awful. This problem is most evident on the track “Girl, so confusing”. “Mean ... read more
Lil bro thinks he’s OutKast ending with a soundtrack 💀
Childish Gambino’s final album, (at least final album under this name) is actually a soundtrack to his upcoming movie. This doesn’t surprise me much, because Donald Glover has many talents, and two of them happen to be acting, and music. This album’s production is spectacular, it all sounds amazing. The vocals are mostly great, but can be a bit lackluster at times. Lithonia and No Excuses are probably my favorite ... read more
