So I finally decided to check out Tribe’s debut album, and I could not be happier with what I got.

I’ve made it pretty obvious how big of an ATCQ fan I am, yet I have only actually heard 3 of their albums. “Can I Kick It?” is easily one of the best Tribe songs of all time, the sampling is absolutely incredible, and it’s easily the most iconic Tribe song. GY!BE is a band that I haven’t explored nearly as much as I would like to, so I decided I would give this a try. It’s fairly short for a GY!BE album, and it has “Mladic”, a song that I have heard amazing things about. I think it’s safe to say I wasn’t disappointed, Mladic was absolutely insane, and “We Drift Like Worried Fire” was also incredible.

the quality of the autotune heavily dictates my opinion on almost every pop album I hear, and this having minimal autotune was such a breath of fresh air, especially after brat. As of writing this, “Syro” is the most recent Aphex Twin album. It was released 13 years after “DrukQs”, so the pressure of releasing another album after that long must have been high. I can safely say it did not disappoint.
