JPEGMAFIA - I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU
90

Had no idea what to say about this album since I listened. I'm only reviewing this cause of his new album. While it's not as experimental as his older stuff, I might start to appreciate this even more after his new album cause the lead single is mid. SIN MIEDO is top 3 in his discography, JPEGUTLRA! is also up there, and eoootd is lowkey overrated. Rating might change since it's been so long since I listened to this.

Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA

Ion have a review but I'll think of one later. AOTY so far btw.

Modern R&B & jazz-rap? Fantano loved it? A JID FEATURE?? I'm shivering of AOTY-user excitement rn.

This shit met my expectations and more. It just perfectly blends the genres that define black culture and elevates them EXACTLY how they're supposed to be elevated.

I mean look at the R&B. I listened to Pressha while going to bed. That shit hypnotized me gng. I just played it over and over again and could not get tired of it. That shit could probably be used as anesthesia ... read more

J. Cole - Cole World: The Sideline Story
69

Ok so this was trying to...... Sound like a studio album? I mean, I just think it's trying to represent Cole in a more "official" manner. Yet kinda fails.

It has Drake, Jay, and Missy Elliott on it yet misses on all three. He didn't feel like a hitmaker in his mixtape era and still doesn't. Work out is actually an amazing hit song though. One of his better, if not his best hook, and his catchiest overall song. Other than that, he's got a bit to learn.

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
81

Yo guys A$AP Rocky dropped! gu- guys? Damn everyone's gone. Wait, fuck I'm almost 2 months late. Godammit. Anyway.

Guys I gotta tell you a harsh fact. Just because an artist you like doesn't drop for a while, doesn't mean their next album will be the most heavenly shit you'll hear. Like I didn't listen to the new Mozart but people could hear that shit and say "wasn't worth waiting centuries for". Y'know maybe you'll one day come to the ... read more

A$AP Rocky - TESTING
74

Pretty much exactly what you'd expect. Kinda experimental, has a lot of fillers and a FUCKING Kodak Black feature, yet throws some bangers in here and there. There are some really underrated tracks tho like Fukk Sleep, Hun43rd, and Changes. Praise The Lord ain't even top 3 lowkey.

J. Cole - Friday Night Lights
85

Aaannd he fucking did it. He mastered the whole style. I mean damn, what do I even say. His rapping is awsome, the beats are awsome, the lyrics are awsome. Pure ass rap like this is what gets mf's through college. The only porblem might be the choruses. Never cared for Coles hooks. But whatever hes not really a hitmaker anyways. If only he started trying to make hits as soon as he started making studio albums, if only...

J. Cole - The Warm Up
75

Ok so I can talk about this one a bit more. See, this mixtape era of his, wasn't really to please us as listeners. He had just started and was trying to improve. And that's cool and all, but since he isn't really trying to be very "outgoing" on this record, that usually means that there's always better records like this one out there, that I would prefer to listen to 99% of the time, while he's trying to perfect this style. So obviously a good album, but ... read more

J. Cole - The Come Up Mixtape Vol. 1

Ok J. Cole just dropped The Fall Off, It's time to lock in and review his discography. This album is... fine? kinda good ig. GENUINELY WHAT DO YOU GUYS WANT FROM ME IN THESE REVIEWS. Good album that's all you're getting.

A Tribe Called Quest - People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm
80

Listen, I love smooth, kinda cheesy jazz rap music as much as the next guy, but I don't think I'm gonna listen to it for an hour straight. Like imagine going to a buffet and getting just 50 pieces of salmon sashimi, it's gonna be good the first 10 bites, and it's gonna keep tasting good, but you gotta have some variety at some point. But of course I'm gonna rate this high for how unhatable this is

Lorde - Pure Heroine
75

Love me some Frank Ocean for kinda mentally stable teenage girls.

David Bowie - Hunky Dory
85

I always find it funny when an artist puts one of the greatest songs ever made in the middle of just another good album. Like hello? We're not just gonna ignore that masterpiece that you just threw in there.

Björk - Post
90

This is definitely Björk alright. I don't know what it is, but is sure as hell is Björk.

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
98

Challenge, try to name one thing that 36 Chambers didn't do better than 99% of hip hop at the time, and honestly, in general. I'll give you some time...

...

Guess what, you can't😂🫵.

So, where do I begin? Hold on let me get my list. There it is, uhhh, it says "unmatched chemistry, that won't ever be replicated ever in hip hops evolution." Oh yeah, that's definitely one of them. You know the question of how unlikley it was for you to be ... read more

Nas - Light-Years

I like how 2025 was so dry that the oldheads had to come in and save the day like side superheroes at the end of a marvel movie.

Injury Reserve - Drive It Like It's Stolen

"Soooo.. You're back to chill experimental hip hop again, but you're also keeping the tough guy act, but not always, wait, let's start over *painfully long sigh followed by about three seconds of silence* what are you trying to accomplish with this? Oh I need to listen to it more? Fuck y- wait this is kinda fire"

David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World
85

Fuck you this is fire. Also, title track is one of the worst songs on the album, and She Shook Me Cold is the best song on the album. Mwahahahahahahaha I feel so evil with my opinions😈

Justice - †
97

Y'all who let Daft Punk out the mental asylum again?

Mac Miller - The Divine Feminine
79

Thank you Ariana for making Mac Miller so happy in some of his last few years, and I guess for giving us yet another song of his ending in moaning noises. I could've played that to my dad so actually screw you Ariana.

Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs
85

Thanks for telling me I didn't notice.
