Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine
88

This was my first Fiona Apple project I listened to all the way through. I love this album. Her vocal style, lyrics, and production are on point. This is a rainy day album for sure. I will 100% be listening to her other projects as I already knew I like her from some of her hits (Sleep to Dream).

Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us
86

Strong project coming out from Vampire Weekend. Each track is interesting and unique. Their instrumentation is insane as always and they prove time and time again that they are extremely talented artists.

Joey Valence & Brae - NO HANDS
76

This album is sick. Bringing back some older hip-hop vibes with style. Their crazy lyrics on this album come off not cringy in a way that enhances this projects listening experience. Interested to see what this duo does next.

Florence + the Machine - Dance Fever
87

Jack Antonoff the man that you are... I loooove this project. Florence is back and better than ever. This truly will have you dancing throughout your listen. Her writing and vulnerability is on full display on this record.

Ariana Grande - My Everything
79

This album is peak 2010's. I love Ariana Grande and she made so many hits off this album. While I do think she brings a lot to the table with this album she has better cohesive projects. This album also has one of my favorite Ariana Grande songs on it "My Everything" which gives it a boost for me.

97

Beyonce can do anything and this project is the example. She effortlessly glides on the dance/ballroom genre music and makes it her own at the same time. Seeing this album live made me appreciate it even more. This is a must listen album and an insane start to the trilogy of projects coming.

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk
92

Insanely talented artists here. This is my first Magdalena Bay project I have listened to and I will be diving into the rest of their discography. This album itches my brain in a way I cannot explain. The synths are heavenly, groovy, and couldn't be more perfectly placed. Please listen to this album!!!

Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!
100

Truly one of the best albums of all time. Lana Del Rey has created a masterpiece and I wish I could hear this record for the first time again. There is absolutely no skips and every song showcases her vocal and songwriting ability. Jack Antonoff ate with this one for sure. I wish I could put into words what the first listen of the title track did to me. I will never forget the fact that I have listened to that song over 600 times.

Caroline Polachek - Desire, I Want to Turn Into You
91

First Caroline Polachek listen and this album is amazing. I love her instrumentation on this one. The bagpipes are an amazing addition that I was not expecting. I think this album still feels fresh when listening to it again and Caroline feels at her most creative on this record.

The Last Dinner Party - Prelude to Ecstasy
94

This is one of the strongest debuts I have seen. Their sound is exactly them already. They know what they want to do and they succeed everytime. Their songwriting and vocals are extremely powerful on this record and have you vibing the entire time. I will be ready for their next project and patiently (or impatiently) waiting.

Ariana Grande - eternal sunshine
84

I really enjoyed this album. Ariana's lyricism on this record was very personal and heartbreaking at times. "I wish I hated you" has to be the saddest song I have heard in a while. She brings a lot of different styles to the table on this one and delivers vocally throughout.

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER
90

You already know Beyonce was going to deliver... This is not a country album, this is a BEYONCE album. I love all the different styles and genres incorporated in this record and her vocals are always delivering. She has tear jerking balads, songs for dancing your ass off, and more. What else do you need?

Cage the Elephant - Neon Pill
72

I liked this album as a Cage the Elephant fan. I do however think this record does not stand out significantly in their discography. I am not sure how often I will return to this album but overall it was a good listen.

Childish Gambino - Bando Stone and The New World
67

While I enjoyed this record it was not Childish Gambino's strongest. There were definitely some songs that I will skip, but very strong highlights including Lithonia and Yoshinoya. I think as his last record under Childish Gambino fans are mostly satisfied, He did exactly what he wanted on this record and most of the time it paid off.

Lorde - Pure Heroine
80

Very strong debut. The hits off this album will forever be cemented in my mind when I think of the 2010's. Lorde was in her writing bag on this one and it didn't stop there (Melodrama incoming). Lorde's vocal ability is also shown with her different styles of songs. She goes from Royals to Ribs to Glory and Gore and suceeds everytime.

Lorde - Melodrama
98

I love this album. I listened to this album way after its release, but it still feels fresh and new. This was my first Lorde album and it sparked me to dive more into her discography. She is an insanely talented songwriter and it shows on this album. Her ability to write catchy hooks and verses is unmatched.

Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
95

This album is a must listen. She is becoming more popular by the minute and she deserves it. Her music will have you dancing! She also gets personal regarding family and relationships letting the listener reflect on the world around them. The vocal ability of Chappell is truly one of a kind.

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
92

Had not listened to a JPEG record and I don't primarily listen to a lot of rap, however this record is INSANE. The samples, production and beats are peak perfection. I also had not listened to much Danny Brown but both JPEG and Danny fit well together on this record. Each bringing their own to different songs this record is extremely well made.

Clairo - Charm
93

First Clairo album start to finish and this is one of the best this year. Instrumentals are insane. The vocals go well with the ambience her album creates. I really like her hooks and production on songs like Thank You.

Porter Robinson - SMILE! :D
82

This was my first Porter Robinson record and I think I will need to dive in more! I loved this record and the funny lyrics to go along with it. This album is not taking itself too seriously, yet it creates interesting and catchy songs to go with it.
