Hobo Johnson - Hobo Johnson Alienates His Fanbase

this is about 20 minutes and 39 seconds too long. ive been waiting for a project to dethrone will.i.am as the worst shit ive listened to, and this has accomplished that. absolute dogshit. id rather go back and listen to my parents argue over custody of me than listen to this again.

Ethel Cain - Perverts
71

this was one of the more interesting albums ive listened to. this takes a far darker turn when compared to Preachers Daughter. i could do without the unnecessarily long tracks on this. they do help set the dark ambience but can also give you a reason to skip to the next track. if their run time was cut in half i probably would have enjoyed it more. one of my favorite parts of ethel cain's music is her voice, and you dont really get a lot of it here sadly. but when you do, its real nice. i ... read more

Chappell Roan - The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
83

this is a great pop album. plenty of fun songs i would dance to with a drink in hand, and a couple that i would smoke a cigarette to while looking at a city skyline. i could also listen to pink pony club a trillion times.

Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere
81

this is the first full death metal album i've listened to and i really enjoyed my listen! the progressive breaks really allowed me to catch my breath between the fiery drums and guitars. The transitions between tracks are lovely. Honestly, couldn't understand a word being said on the whole album but I don't think you really have to?

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA
85

very creative and introspective. tylers production always keeps things interesting from track to track. this is a strong addition to his already impressive catalog of work.

Pixies - Doolittle
NR

ive listened to this twice and still cant figure out how i feel about it lmao. gonna have to revisit later.

The Black Keys - Brothers
71

this is pretty good. its defiinitely a lot stronger in the first half, with a lot less memorable tracks in the latter half. its nothing that will leave you speechless but it has its fair share of good moments and nice guitar riffs.

Carole King - Tapestry
86

lovely voice, straightforward songwriting and delivery. very easy to resonate with these songs at some point during your listen. everything feels very sincere and genuine. im a fan

Box Car Racer - Box Car Racer
85

what a wonderful side project from Tom Delonge. definitely leans into more of the sad boy punk rock but it feels very vulnerable and heartfelt. would be cool if this was part of blink 182's catalogue, but it makes for a pleasant surprise when you learn about it. thoroughly enjoyed this.

Jamie xx - In Waves
77

really wasnt a big fan of jamie xx based of his previous album, but this one sounded better to me. i liked the progression throughout the tracks and the transitions between them were seamless. loved the avalanches feature, which was also my favorite track. overall i enjoyed this project, nothing mind blowing but id listen to it again.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
94

Biggie set the tone for what it means to have a sick flow. You can tell interesting and important stories while also having fun with it. This is required listening to anyone that calls themselves a fan of hip hop. plus that interlude is one of the funniest rap skits ive ever heard.

KNEECAP - Fine Art
74

you'll definitely need a lot of context to understand this one. im all about what kneecap stands for, but in general their sound just didn't really hit me right. untillllll this. the production thoroughly surprised me on this, and i enjoyed the story throughout with the interludes. definitely biased but had a lot of fun listening to this, more so than listening to their earlier work. COYBIG

Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory
83

for my first album listening experience with linkin park, i like this one. there's many levels to their production outside of the heavy guitars and intense vocals. chester benningtons voice is one of a kind. the sound accompanied by the lyrics creates a very visceral listening experience. good to throw on to get the blood flowing.

Nine Inch Nails - Still
82

very minimal sound design, makes it feel like its raining in my brain. love the sound on the first track where it sounds like he's alone in a room singing to himself. very pleasing listen but will probably make you feel quite meloncholy.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Willy and the Poor Boys
85

throw this on and crack open a beer and you definitely wont have a bad time

Empire Of The Sun - Ask That God
52

disappointed :( the singles carry this and after that it gets a flat tire. big mid

Glass Animals - I Love You So F***ing Much
41

man this was disappointing. not a great feeling when the best song of the album is the first song. it feels like on a lot of tracks they were chasing that Heat Waves formula. all these tracks feel absent of that weirdness that made Glass Animals fun to listen to. cant help but feel like they're trying to cater to a more general audience with their surge in popularity. really feels like the creativity went out of the door on this one

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited
100

perhaps the best songwriting i have ever heard

John Summit - Comfort In Chaos
53

as a lot of reviews have said, its played very safe. the most obvious point of it is having a track with Of The Trees that doesn't sound like Of The Trees touched it at all. the most exciting tracks were the ones that have already been out as singles for months. there is definitely more comfort than chaos in this project, ultimately coming to a very meh result.

OutKast - Aquemini
85

for as many tracks that this has it doesn't feel too bloated. i would recommend this to any hip hop fan. this thing is as smooth as butter
