edited review, was 88. I just havent replayed the album alot, not alot of replay value for me unfortunately >:(
Amazing debut album! 36 minutes was around a perfect time for this project, i feel like any album of hers 45+ would sound very repeated and something id perhaps get bored from. I liked all of the singles pre-release (besides polo) so i was expecting high from the rest of the album and it delivered!

Only 10 tracks to this album, i love loved 9/10 tracks, only one i would skip regularly. i only knew some Chxrry songs previouslt (odd singles / lead singles to this) and enjoyed most. i found that i would only skip Bottles & Lights, the rest are pleasent even if some are weaker.
A good contender for a top of the year album.

wasnt too interested in this album, was made with friends to listen to it. otherwise it wouldnt of came across me - i enjoyed some tracks on this album but the entire scream-y sound really threw me off, i dont think this genre is entirely for me. on a positive note i did enjoy some tracks amd would end up going back to those
also why was there a 37 minute song?!
Top 3:
1. My Own Summer (Shove It)
2. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)
3. Mascara
i dont believe that this is as bad as some people think it is, although i didnt know any tracks beforehand i quite enjoyed the album and thought it wasnt half bad. some songs were overly dragged and i got bored from them but besides that it is a solid album, i just wouldnt replay it *fully* alot / ever (?) and would just pick out a couple of songs.

Previously only knew a few songs from this album, i was expecting it to click *more* for me since i enjoyed some of her others too, tho i felt this one wasnt as good as everybody claims it to be. Obviously it is still an outstanding album i just cant give it the 10s everyone else does, her voice and vocals were completely fine all it was is just the raspy growl i thought was overused throughout the album, but in some ways it does add to the overall aesthetic.

a solid album for sure, in the first half it was hit after hit, but after that i feel it fell off. There was plenty singles tbat everybody knew on this album but some of the album tracks lacked flavour and didnt really add much experience to the album. in my opinion it was carried by the singles (with some exceptions)
top 3:
1. Love Yourself
2. Sorry
3. The Feeling (feat. Halsey)
I did think that this album was good for its time, it had all the elements of a prime 80s album bible. Althought i felt some tracks were dragged and went on too long for my liking. I didnt know any songs beforehand so i went in blind to the whole album and enjoyed it quite alot!
Top 3:
1. When I Think Of You
2. What Have You Done For Me Lately
3. Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)
unfortunately this album didnt click so much with me, i did enjoy some tracks quite alot, i previously knew 'Welcome To My Island' which is a great song by itself. ive been wanting to listen to this album in full for quite a while till now so i had a high regard to it.

3. I Believe
For me personally, i dont believe this album should be as appealed as it should be, obviously it is still a great album i just would not ever go there to call it the best of all time.
Some tracks were weaker than others so i dont think it will have alot of replay value to me, Fitter Happier kind of just felt like it was dropped in especially with the fried voice which did completely nothing to me.

My personal favourite Madonna album! something about this hit more hard and personal rather than going with the crowd to rate 'Ray Of Light' as her #1, i couldnt see this album any below a 10/10 every track is perfect and it comes with 0 skips.
Top 3:
1. Get Together
2. Sorry
3. How High
I had not listened to this album in *full* previously (or which i dont recall, besides a few tracks) so going into almost blind. The instrumental & production all throughout the album was astonishing, her vocals were also amazing and suprised me in some ways. A slight critique to this album is that some tracks felt overly dragged, like track 1 couldve been shorter imo. However, will be keeping this album in loop for a while to come!
Top 3:
1. Cocoon
2. An Echo, A Stain
3. Aurora
My only big problem with this is that it is incredibly too short of an album, 10 tracks and 18 minutes? if it was a more reasonable (for her) 25 minutes this album would easily be a 90+. besides, this as her debut album is insane she came into the scene with hits even with the very little tracks that she had. Overall as an album i would not skip a single track
Top 3:
1. All My Friends Know
2. Pain
3. Break It Off (Bonus)
Loved this album, it had a sort of familiar pop-rock sound to it that i really couldnt put my finger on, a good mix of PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple & Avril Lavigne. Her vocals throughout the album were amazing, it all sounds so fresh despite it being over 30 years old.

A very classical album, a staple in music history. What felt off to me is that there was a couple (?) filler tracks in my opinion. For an 1983 album she did absolutely insane and the high notes on this album are incredibly high!
Top 3:
1. Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)
2. Cloudbusting

Top 3: Big Star, Oceanic Feeling, Helen Of Troy (Bonus)
