The Beatles - Abbey Road

The first half is actually 10/10 and the second half is hit or miss. Some of the mini songs work and some just don’t. At least for me.

Unbelievably good. Roger is at the top of his lyrical game throughout, especially on Dogs, which also has not only Gilmour’s best solo, but in my opinion, the greatest guitar solo of all time.

Pink Floyd - The Wall

Incredible. One of the greatest concept albums and executions.

How in God’s name is Wearing the Inside Out 77? Were we listening to the same song?

Wearing the Inside Out

Pink Floyd - Meddle

Maybe the hardest an album has ever been carried by a song.
Favorite Track:
Echoes

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

Incredibly impressed by some of the tracks on here (some of his best) but underwhelmed by some others. The great tracks are usually the most sensitive ones.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!

They don’t sleep anymore on the beach.

Magdalena Bay - Second Sleep / Star Eyes

I believe the term is “magdalena slay”

Henry Cow - Western Culture

The most challenging album I’ve ever heard, and one of the most difficult to rate. The high points on this album are stellar, but I feel that one of the biggest traps to fall into in avant-garde and especially instrumental music is having the themes not shine through in the music, and this happens unfortunately frequently on this record. But when everything comes together, it’s an incredible, rewarding experience.

The Who - Tommy

This one used to be one of my all-time favorite albums, but in all honesty, it’s grown off me. I still have respect for it and will never be upset with it on, but it’s a bit like a childhood friend you’ve outgrown.
Favorite Track:
Go To The Mirror!

The Who - Who's Next

It’s not Quadrophenia.

Won’t Get Fooled Again

ミラクルミュージカル [Miracle Musical] - Hawaii: Part II

Not a fan of this. Essentially no substance throughout and incredibly gimmicky. Some decent tracks and moments here and there but overall disappointing.
Favorite Track:
White Ball

Radiohead - Kid A

I guess I’m not as big of a Kid A fan as everyone else, but there are still some incredible tracks on here. It just isn’t able to consistently hit them like Ok Computer and In Rainbows are able to.
Favorite Track:
Idioteque

Rush - Moving Pictures

An indisputable masterpiece and an essentially perfect album but not even better than Permanent Waves somehow. One of the most consistent albums in quality I’ve ever heard- each song is downright generational.
Favorite Track:
Limelight

Rush - Snakes & Arrows

Meh. A few strong songs here and there but overall pretty mediocre.
Favorite Track:
Far Cry

Rush - Presto

Anyone who says this album is devoid of personality is just straight up wrong. I honestly prefer this album to everything in the keyboard era besides Signals. How this is rated the same as Test for Echo is beyond me.

Rush - Test for Echo

Their worst overall. A bit overhated but still not great. Not awful though. Has their most underrated song in Limbo.

The Who - Quadrophenia

“Let the tide in and set me free.”

How can I listen to this? There’s no progressive elements or fusion with other genres!
Just kidding. Quadrophenia is the apotheosis of rock and roll at all its core elements, brought to the absolute height of their capabilities, by way of its pure musical proficiency, but also its ideologies and inspirations. Quadrophenia is a rock story, both an example and, in may ways, a deconstruction of what it thinks and breathes, executed to ... read more
