I’m a really big Niko b fan, and I hope his sound doesn’t get repetitive because for now, it’s completely addictive and fun
haven't listened but there is a song called awesome jawsome so i fw it like mm that jawsome is awesome thats just so funny
This was one of my most listened to albums ever when it came out, I absolutely adored this as an 8th grader, to the point that going back to it in college is kind of brutal, emotionally speaking. It's very easy to listen to "Nothing Happens" with a straight face and scoff at how generic some of the melodies and lyrics are, but I think that's what I really adore about it. This album exists song to song for the most part, and doesn't try to connect to an overarching theme. I think that ... read more
An album that shifts between emotional beats so effortlessly, "Scrapyard" is missing some of the connected themes that made Quadeca's last project so incredible, but the lack of cohesion becomes its purpose by the end of it's runtime. I was speechless listening to the final installment of this series, and I cannot contain my excitement for what Quadeca does next.
I thought for this one I'd do a different type of review and write directly after I listen, track by track, because I don't anticipate coming back to this project much, I just wanted to hear it once in full.
STARS - A solid start, I can get behind this sound and I think while it lacks in substance, it's a beautiful song.
KEYS TO MY LIFE - Again, not bad by any means and it has nice moments, but it never settles in to a place that would make it worth coming back to.
PAID - The instrumental ... read more
I found glass beach in 2019 and their debut was probably the album I listened to the most throughout the pandemic, I absolutely adored it. Returning to it now I find a lot more issues than before, and I had no clue that the band was releasing another album anytime soon. That being said this is such a mature and well polished product. Every song feels like a new band in the best way possible, and I’ve had it on repeat since it came out. I’m so beyond happy to see this band continue ... read more
I fell in love with underscores back in 2021 when “fishmonger” came out, but despite how incredible “fishmonger” is, “wallsocket” elevates on almost every level. I can still hear aspects of “skin purifying treatment” and “character development” on this project, but it’s amazing how much April has improved and evolved her sound. This album has as much emotional depth as fishmonger, but it expresses it in such a unique way that ... read more
Her most mature and introspective work yet, shows a mastery of the sound that it goes for from a musical perspective, but doesn’t feel as unique as some of her earlier records. That isn’t a detriment to the album, it just lacks the signature sound I was expecting. I found her last project “Laurel Hell” to be lackluster, and “This Land…” shifts and elevates all of the good elements on “Laurel Hell” creating a very raw and emotionally ... read more
I'm really enjoying "How Do You Sleep At Night" on my first couple listens, I have yet to find a track I don't find to be a lot of fun. I think the opening and closing tracks are the only shaky moments for me. On "OK", even though I enjoy the vocal deliveries and think it's kind of an interesting track, it leaves too much to be desired on the lyrical front. On the closing track "The Original was Better", I was into it until the instrumental took over, and it ... read more
Pretty great?? On the same level as rodeo?? Idk the production is the biggest highlight for me but I also think Travis is at his best lyrically and vocally here. The thing that brings this down most is the lack of sticking to the theme or concept, which was my favorite part of some of his last records. Favorite tracks are delresto, my eyes, loooove, till further notice, telekinesis, hyaena, most of them except the two weeknd songs actually
yeah i enjoyed most of this quite a bit! certainly some songs that could've been cut, but most of what uzi does is pretty fresh and i will always respect and enjoy that more than something safer. more boring songs than "bad" songs, and whil uzi's influences are shown very clearly, they pull them off quite well.
favorites: suicide doors, nakamura, fire alarm, aye, the end, werewolf
least favorites: spin again, mama i'm sorry, died and came back, the bonus tracks
I’m so genuinely shocked at how incredible this is I’m thinking of every song I’ve ever heard and it feels like every piece of media I’ve ever consumed is referenced here
