hypnotizing is a good word for this, i fucking love it but it drags a LOT and has some duds
pretty good, if it were on CMIYGL it would be one of the better songs. i just find myself being really sick of the sound from that era, dj drama is getting on my nerves, and this song, while I get that it is part of a deluxe release, I don’t see a reason to come back to it often
extremely EXTREMELY addictive album, I love a lot of stuff on here but a lot of it can be brought down by painful lyrical moments. Other than that, performances, production, and super catchy hooks make this extremely fun and enjoyable. there are some duds on here unfortunately
favorite tracks: mos thoser, sole, foresight, metal
least favorite tracks: pharmacy (Jesus), 51129, ride
no damn SKIPS! need some more hunky sweaty oiled up men in my life
edit: y’all what I think I got hacked lol 😅
2023 continues to impress me!! this is great and it is great very consistently. no track really lulls, so I feel it deserves a high score even if I don’t know how often I’ll return to it.
Favorite track: heaven surrounds us like a hood
Least favorite: N/A
probably my most anticipated album this year so far and it was so so worth the wait. 100 gecs has given me so much, they were the first band i listened to religiously that just totally forced me to just be a more artistically open person and stop caring about what I’d heard before this and what other people think ab this- I stopped caring or feeling like i couldn’t listen to certain things if they didn’t fit the mold of music I used to listen to- they basically helped me to ... read more
if 2023 ended today, it would still be an EXCELLENT year for album releases, but luckily we are spoiled and we get like 9 more months of this shit. this album is great, I think it’s pretty innovative from an instrumental perspective, the production is pretty great, despite feeling a lot like a daughters album, which isn’t a bad thing, in fact I actually prefer this project over anything daughters has put out, but I can’t help but hear the influence a little too much. as for ... read more
This album struggles with so many of the issues of the past few gorillaz projects, as well as projects from other contemporary artists that I think are disappointing/not making a good use of the artists potential, or not being able to replicate their past successes. I am generally not a fan of an album bloated with features (unless it’s actually a collaboration album), so when a group or artist releases an album, I want to hear that artist and if I’m hearing another group or artist, ... read more
just much more interesting and fun than "don't get too close". i don't wanna give this a higher rating because i just don't like skrillex
scared of the good reviews that the other album he put out this year have gotten... this was just lame, a couple okay songs but they all suffer from one of skrillexes famous death drops (its the same thing every time)
the jack antonoff plague continues to spread. this is kind of an amazing song though
copy paste ass musician with decent song structure and a nice enough voice. does nothing new and does it slightly okay
surprisingly found myself super lost in this. i can usually listen to this guys goofier rap stuff because he's funny and it's produced fairly well, but this stands on it's own due to a stark improvement in his writing and musical sense. his voice sounds great, it isn't as strong as the vocals in other songs that are similar to this, so i think despite being heavily influenced by an array of singer/songwriters, it is unique enough to stand out.
