James Ferraro - Night Dolls with Hairspray
NR

early james ferraro is so rewarding. it's like tuning in centipede hz type radio or something. completely otherworldly, almost dangerous music. but this one's sweet. james's very own glam rock venue. sounds like some shiny 70's rock after thrown into a aux cord directly in a star trek sound system of sorts

Elisa Ambrogio - The Immoralist
NR

girl from "magik markers" - stream of consciousness noise rock band - does solo album with a cover art like this. imagine stating "i am waka flocka flame" as soon as this. been hearing it a lot; the record as a whole feels so approacheable yet so exquisite in its own manners: the guitar's sound stays between chastity belt and sonic youth, her shy voice stays always quiet as if it's too scared to reach your ears. grouper-ish songwriting but dryer, shorter and noisier at ... read more

Vincent Gallo - When
100

had a instagram dm conversation with gallo where he said "butterfly", a new album, was coming out on december but the label dropped it after his angry pro-trump discourse on the platform. such a sadly beautiful man making such sad, beautiful music. hard to understand his sad and ugly shenanigans . guess he's just scared

Ojos De Brujo - Bari

a thousand sparks of joy suddenly appear after hitting nails against strings

Secos & Molhados - Secos & Molhados

Bowie; but classy, profound, eerier, more creative, even further in the libido-driven rock he delivered at the time and even furtherer in the gimmycks and at the same time middle-fingering American Imperialism and every concept anyone had stablished on what should anything sound like, look like and talk about. Ney Matogrosso is such a visionary, with a truly androgynous, beautiful voice and a fascination with nature and life like no singer ever displayed, ever. Just search for their live ... read more

Fiona Apple - Tidal

"Fiona is as methaphorical as she is violent and sincere - she spits poetic metaphors as she means them. Like: "she really meant she wanted to kill him that time - but not - but she meant it""
-Quentin Tarantino, on Fiona Apple's poetry

Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

they really did that

Lisa Stansfield - Affection

"that's just, like, your opinion man"

Sleigh Bells - Treats

thinking how this shit is major. makes you think how sometimes being ahead of the curve is getting early to the party. hope their next record gets their ass a ticket to this whole dog show/pc music carnival

Charles Manson - Lie: The Love and Terror Cult
80

sorry about this , but the songs feel so raw, chunky and emotional. one hard pill to swallow. probably the evil, scummish version of bobby jameson . wish he had stick to music, part of the blame is kind of in the industry. pigs.

DJ Sprinkles - Midtown 120 Blues

just intrinsicate fun

MAVI - Let the Sun Talk
NR

sLums has grown quite a lot recently, mostly through the most recent Earl Sweatshirt solo efforts. MIKE'S music always sounded great to me, but i needed something like Let the Sun Talk. i mean, what is this album? a concept, a message, a thought? tracks like "Sense" feel clever and amazing, "Guernica" feels sad and mostly relatable, "Moonlight" feels like so much things, together. I don't know man, Mavi already kicked off his career with a head-scratching debut: ... read more

Bladee - Icedancer
NR

kinda biased, but i'm just in love with bladee's music for the moment. he transcends the meaning of "vibes" and turns chilly, cold vocals and instrumentals (by the way, whitearmor is amazing) into a sort of lifestyle-like atmosphere. "i live like this, come feel me". feels soft on the ears.

Earl Sweatshirt - FEET OF CLAY
NR

earl proceed destilling his sound into even more solid packaging: tracks like EAST shouldn't work, but Earl's skill resides in the fact he doesn't rhyme over beats, more likely he raps over memories. OD is a evidence of that: the line "my memory really leaking blood" matches perfectly the glitchy, faulty instrumentals. His hopeless perspective matches perfectly Mavi's radiating vibes on the Toro Combo track, and the final track is mainly just bizarre. i just wish he would compromise ... read more

genius work. 2 Live Crew had only one job: being as despicable, dirty and pornish as they could, but they ended up doing so well it defined the sound of miami bass and florida hip-hop for future generations. the production is just brilliant for 1989, and Me So Horny is such a anthem. sex obsessed, sex derived, and with sex as its main focus. fantastic, timeless classic.

Standing On The Corner - Standing On The Corner
NR

a disorienting but blissful compilation of interactive sample-based tracks with beautiful vocals and charmful, antique instrumentals. highly recommend.
