an improvement over sour in every way possible. great songwriting, great production, we finally have a pretty good mainstream pop album to listen to throughout the year or even next year. i always loved olivia's edgy and unfiltered character, and it really pays off on this one. strongly recommend it.
fav tracks: all-american bitch, vampire, lacy, ballad of a homeschooled girl, making the bed, logical, get him back!, teenage dream

WOWWWWWWW HOW THE FUCK THIS TURNED OUT TO BE LIKE THISSSSS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
all jokes aside, this album is dark, eerie, atmospheric and sometimes makes me feel like i'm stuck in a parallel universe. outstanding production and yeah, i can see the "ooooh it sounds like yeezus" comments but he worked on that album so it's a pass for me. it feels like he gathered some of the left-field, stark and otherworldly elements from the yeezus sessions and brought those to this constantly ... read more
i wish this album wasn't this bloated. because i really like some of the experimental tracks but again i really wish some of the tracks were cut from it. the features add absolutely nothing, punk metal tracks are awful (yeah even you, chop suey cover) and some of the worst uzi tracks to date fill up the album. the tracks that are great are some of his best though not gonna lie. overall, i like the approach but was kinda disappointed because of its ridicilous runtime.

one of the most disappointing albums in recent years from a big artist/producer/curator like metro, ima let it pass since it's a soundtrack but this thing is sooooo derivative like what the hell is this (i watched the movie and i still feel the same but it sounds better to my ears now i guess)
fav tracks: annihilate, danger, calling, self love, home

after 5-6 listens, i realized the genius within the album. the beats, the flows, the vibe.. everything is near perfect. peggy is just a monster of his own already and him doing a collab album with another monster like danny brown is just sounds crazy man. and the album literally sounds like that. 36 minutes of "scaring the hoes". that's just it, and i fuckin love it.

nice collage of tracks, creative spots but other than that it's pretty normal. would love to hear more from her

nice change of pace for don but i'm sorry to say but again i am left with nothing but disappointment yet again with this release. don toliver has been one of the most exciting voices in hip hop for the last 5 years but he still has to make a consistent record from start to finish. some great highlights, but it's not coherent and realllly inconsistent. i still have hope in him because he is a really good artist.

WOOOOOW. this shit is incredible. we ain't even past january yet and lil boat just dropped an AOTY contender. this album is like if Tame Impala's style met with quirky vocals from the likes of Tyler's IGOR. the features are amazing as well, i can't pass on the Fousheé feature on The Alchemist, that shit is something special.

honestly, some of them are actually great but i don't know. i wanted more, i'm just disappointed. hope there's some sort of side b to this with vocals in it.
fav instrumentals: gualala 2, portland 2, edmonton
bloated. great song ideas but by track 10 i was already bored. the features didn't do a thing either. as i said, couple songs here and there, other than that, it's pretty much filled with...well, nothing, actually.
