Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World
91

easily the best synthpop album of the year and a strong AOTY contender, magdalena bay's sound is a holistic combination of some acts in the genre and genres nearby in the latest years i.g. KKB, Grimes, Carly rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, crystal castles, DJ Sabrina the Teenage DJ and even Anamanaguchi and many others that become more evident after a few more listens, and the thing is that a lot of those names might sound like stretches on first listen given how magdalena grabs from those influences ... read more

NCT 127 - Sticker
20

singlehandedly killed my curiosity for the LP

Rina Sawayama - LUCID
60

I remember listening to sour candy on cromatica and thinking it was a lesser version of what rina already did with comme des garcons
now I listen to this and it just feels like a lesser version of chromatica

I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME - RAZZMATAZZ
60

the album comes way too close to being AJR level blocky over compressed production at times, there's songs where lead singer comes out as anonymous or unfitting and a chunk of songs just feel like this stitching together of 2010's indie pop elements I already heard too many times.

there's a few parts tho where I question whether or not some things in this album are intentional, like the song "nobody likes the opening band" where pairing both the lyrics about the opening band/fans ... read more

BLACKPINK - THE ALBUM
50

it's just average , it's over before you know it and leaves close to no impact once it's over

six impala - WFLYTD
75

this hurts my gums good

Justin Bieber - Holy
30

at this point who thinks it's a good idea to call chance to write bars in your song?

BLACKPINK & Selena Gomez - Ice Cream
40

blackpink shakes things up and stops making the same song again, and now that they did that I understand why they sticked with the same song for 3 years

BTS - Dynamite
80

it's fun, contagious and charming. sometimes that's all you need on a pop tune

G-Eazy - Everything’s Strange Here
20

Supermarket 2020 now with bowie disrespect

BLACKPINK - How You Like That
40

this sounds like the kind of song that people who don't like kpop think kpop is

Charli xcx - forever
80

made in 2 days and still better than most pop stars carefully groomed tracks

Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
80

It can be one-dimensional at times specially in the lyrics department, however, the production! it delivers on nearly every song this infectious instrumentals effectively referencing from disco to Y2K pop with strong attention to detail although the album doesn't go without a few underwhelming moments

Childish Gambino - 3.15.20
50

the grand majority if the tracklist is utterly ruined by very questionable production choices
and feels like summer is there

Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake
60

lil uzi vert has the charisma but the album loses momentum every time lil uzi vert tries to tie together the concept of the album with the skits and cheesy sound effects and despite the odd sound palette the production is pretty run off the mill with mediocre drum programing and sampling

Porter Robinson - Something Comforting
90

I love the way the production conveys the theme of the lyrics, it's a clever way of using the vocal processing that porter used in his last single to give a compelling narrative

Demi Lovato - I Love Me
50

the instrumental is basically anonymous and inofensive, however the lyrics are what makes this a dud to me, outside of a few moments the lyrics feel made for anyone to be able to self insert themselves it doesn't feel very personal

BTS - MAP OF THE SOUL : 7
50

I had a feeling I wasn't going to like this given the underwhelming singles as well as the questionable selection of songs from Persona and now after giving it a few listens the album feels like a major recycle of Ideas BTS and other kpop groups have done before and better, the album has a severe lack of memorable moments, the most interesting Idea is how they try to reprise the intro track but they don't really do much with it.
The trap production sounds painfully dated in a way it doesn't aid ... read more

Green Day - Father of All…
15

I'm kinda confused at how confident green day seems about this album's rock attitude when most of it sounds like a nickelodeon sitcom opening theme or a car commercial
