Eminem - Music to Be Murdered By
15

I like darkness enough and the features were okay for the most part but, surprise surprise, Eminem still sucks at rapping and I had to skip most songs on the album. Still better than revival I guess but I'm not sure if that's much of a compliment. Also, I just didn't like the production at all on most tracks

The Field - Looping State of Mind
NR

Absolutely stunning record in almost every sense of the word.
Whilst I do love some ambient records/artists (Boards of Canada, Tim Hecker, etc), sometimes I find it hard to return to the record if i'm not in the right state of mind as sometimes they will do nothing for me. However this record never ceases to impress me and can always make me so relaxed and just in a good state of mind.
The soundscapes create by The Field are almost unmatched and can almost put me in a trance, but the songs ... read more

Much prefer this to daydream nation tbh.
I've always really wanted to love daydream but for whatever reason I could not. I instantly thought that I must just not like sonic youth (as most people say its their magnum opus or whatever) so I never really tried checking out their stuff for a good couple months. However, I decided the other day to listen to sister and, fuck man, it clicked first listen then only got better from there. I really love how it can go from being such a calming and ... read more

KFC Murder Chicks - Cortex Rampage
NR

Erratas and all that haha (had to get that out of the way).
This album, and the other stuff I've heard from the KFC Murder Chicks, is a headache. Everything from the lo-fi production to its strange samples and abrasive noises is just so bordering unpleasant. And this is coming from someone with a wide knowledge and love for noise and industrial, this including everything Death Grips has put out and a lot of noise rock that I cba to mention.

But I still really enjoyed the album. The rave ... read more

Sunny Day Real Estate - How It Feels to Be Something On
98

This is one of my favourite albums of all time, and there's good reason for it; it just makes me feel good.
Something about this album, whether it be the beautiful singing or the relaxed atmosphere, that just almost never fails to put into a good mood.
That's the reason it's part of my 'feel good square' of albums: Is this it - the strokes, WWCOHWWG - The Unicorns, Weezer Blue and This album.
Musical therapy.

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING

Eh
This album has high highs and low lows
Whereas I really like songs like God Is, Follow God, Everything We Need and the second half of closed on Sunday: I really dislike a lot of the production choices on Selah and On God is honestly so appallingly bad that it made take this album down a good 10 points.
Really disappointed with this album because I loved almost everything Ye did last year, Kids See Ghosts being one of my favourite albums of all time.

Father John Misty - Pure Comedy
100

I don't know what is so incredibly infectious about this whole album.
For me to like an album that's 70+ minutes long it has to be really interesting, or else I just tend to get bored and want to go listen to some 40 minute album for the 200th time. The main criticism of this album that I hear is that it is 'boring' but I just do not see it at all. There is not a single second of this album that I am not emotionally invested. I do see peoples' issue with Leaving LA and, truth be told, I do on ... read more

Have a Nice Life - Science Beat

Imma be honest - Sea of worry probably going to AOTY for me and this single does nothing to change my predictions. This single is so undeniably beautiful and atmospheric. I was honestly expecting Sea of Worry to have a more post-punk sound, judging by the title track, but between this and Lords of Tresserhorn maybe Sea of Worry will be more like their older stuff.
Still, we cant know until its released (November 8th, cant wait!).

Pink Floyd - Animals
99

What can I say?
It's my favorite pink floyd album.

Radiohead - Nude

May be the perfect song, I've not decided

Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked at Me
100

There is not a single thing wrong with this album.
I don't like listening to this album but there is not a single complaint I have.
Also it hurts my precious feelings.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die
99

I so badly want to rate this 100, but fuck me exists.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
98

The raw emotions that this album conveys are almost unmatched.
There is good reason that two headed boy is one of my all time favorite songs

The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2
100

What can I say? I'm basic.

The Microphones - Mount Eerie
99

Only rating 99 because I believe 'the glow pt 2' is slightly better.

twenty one pilots - Blurryface
20

This is not rap, this is not hip-hop
It's just another attempt to make the voices stop.

Madvillain - Madvillainy
100

Imo the best hip hop album ever made and one if the best albums in general ever made.
The diversity in production from madlib.
The batshit crazy rhyme schemes from DOOM.
Has ,and will probably always be, my favorute album of all time.

98

Can get a little samey but that might just be because of the sheer amount of times I've listened to it.
The vocals are on point this entire album.
One of my favorites

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Bandana
93

Bandana > Pinata
The production is some of madlib's absolute best. Not a single song (other than the opener I guess) that I thought was even remotely bad.
Mr fucking Gibbs man. Holy shit. Imo his best performance yet, even better than pinata.
Almost perfect hip-hop album, absolutely amazing.
(Madvillainy is still better tho ;) )

MF DOOM - Operation: Doomsday
90

Fucking classic, its DOOM being raw over classic beats. One of my favourite DOOM albums.

Best songs: Gas Drawls, Tick Tick, Rhymes like dimes
