Drake has some of the best moments of his career on this album. Whether it be some of his best rapping performances, some of his best production choices, or some of his most personal and vulnerable tracks, "Nothing Was the Same" has it all. There are still some songs weighing the tracklist down but as a whole the highs of the album more than offset the lows. There's not much more to say. Just a really solid project.

Such a solid R&B debut. Steve has a spectacular voice and can do a lot with it, all while offering some classic r&b production with a modern twist. Some of the songs on this record are so catchy that you feel the need to listen to them multiple times in a row. This album doesn't redefine the genre, but it's undeniable that almost every song will stay in your rotation.

I was never the biggest fan of the Beatles, so i was scared that I wouldn't appreciate this album given its universal praise. I was very pleasantly surprised after listening which is something that I couldn't think could happen due to how much I had already heard from The Beatles in the past. The front half has so many wonderful standalone tracks and the back half flows so well. I still can't defend some of the corniness when it comes to a track like "Maxwell's Silver ... read more
This mixtape is one of the reasons I love music so much. It's the first project that I genuinely listened to from front to back religiously, compared to simply scrolling through the top songs on the SoundCloud charts. Mixtape Chance was something special, as his tongue-and-cheek delivery created so many entertaining moments. This paired with his spaced-out and druggy production choices allowed for an atmosphere unlike any other. I know that some tracks haven't aged the best, but this ... read more
I still cannot fathom how a 17 year old can make a mixtape this good. The 90's boom-bap and New York influence is executed so well, and it really captures the essence of a Brooklyn teenager aspiring to make it in the rap game. Joey's lyricism is so polished in comparison to the rest of the game, let alone for his age. Survival Tactics is one of the greatest rap songs of all time. RIP STEEZ.
