Revisiting the first band I ever loved
Whew, this is a very interesting debut. Instead of the duo we know and love, it's Tyler and two other dudes, which is one of the first things I noticed, there was an actual bass noticeable (shout-out Nick Thomas). Also noticeable were some nice harmonies that, if I remember correctly, have never appeared since except when Tylers harmonising with himself. This record is actually very daring for a debut, they experiment with several sounds, though the ... read more
Starts of interesting but loses me after 3 songs. Season 2 Weight Loss is a funny title for a song
A good time that doesn't overstay its welcome. Please don't let this edm movement stop I'm enjoying it a lot
The first I've heard of Slayyyter was a meme that Ariana Grande wanted to phone her instead of Ethan Slater. This is my second impression, and boy, is it fun. I've heard this album like 5 times since it released and it's a real good time. The drop in 'BEAT UP CHANEL$' is my favourite musical moment of this year so far. Awesome.
Pure pop bliss. I can tell that everyone involved in making this just loves pop music.

Simply iconic. Iconic bass playing, iconic singing, iconic commentary, iconic features.
Cat lover Mitski delivers a lyrics focused, no-nonsense album, her first in three years. Instrumentally she doesn't reinvent the wheel, letting the words speak for themselves, and the words are very good here. For me the standouts are the rock-ier parts of the record.
Favourite songs: In a Lake, Where's My Phone, If I Leave, Lightning

A basic, yet effective indie rock record about love and relationships. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Man I really want to make a stupid joke like "White boy goes to India and gets overwhelmed by culture" but this is not only an absolutely beautiful and respectful homage to India, this is also an homage to so many of Gorillaz' past collaborators that are no longer with us. Though the lyrics are about death, this record feels so alive with so many different ideas spanning from the Demon Days sessions to now. My favourite collaborators on here are probably Black Thought, Kara ... read more
Bruno Mars does his 80s Soul-Revival shtick well and is not trying to do anything new with it, creating an inoffensive, unchallenging listen where the songs leave your mind about 30 minutes later
Pretty enjoyable! I liked the longer cuts of this album a lot. More of that noodling please!
I am offended that some of these songs are that good. The bass? Belongs in heaven. Duas vocal performance is wonderful. The Your Woman sample? No notes. A really good output and one of the best pop albums of the 2020s.
Unremarkable besides a few interesting arrangement choices like the combination of strings and edm beats. But miles better than the movie lol
Oh shit this is like really good. Also Magdalena Bay Producer on here, which is just very funny to me.
Fav tracks: the black seminole, running out of time, I've officially lost vision
